This was my sunset when visiting Canon Beach, and the Oregon coast...U.S.A...

Woohoo!

I was just like... I know that coastline... that’s arch cape! Just south of... oh. Yep. There it is... Haystack rock & Cannon Beach! :facepalm:

There’s really decent surfing just a lil bit south of there, although the hike in (and doooooown) is a bitch. My personal recommendation is to win a bet with someone ahead of time, so they schlep your gear for you on the trip up. And a solar shower at the car to fix the hauling ass up this stupid hill with wobble-legs, getting tarred and feathered with dust and pine needles. .

On second thought... there’s some really decent surfing just a little bit further south... :p With parking lots next to flat beaches. They call it California.

That really is my fav strip of OR coastline, though. Lincoln City is Lovely and right close to Newport (with the aquarium across the parking lot from Rogue River Brewery... yay! Kids morning & adult lunch!), but Cannon Beach & surrounds will always have my heart :inlove:

I don't recognize it as Friday does, but I sure recognize it as Oregon. Absolutely one of my favorite places, and loved the cliffs/ driftwood, wet sand. Glorious. :)

Yup! #Friday and #Junebug! You got it!! The photo with the moon was some distance up from Canon Beach. I personally prefer the northern Washington coastline, myself. I like the more rugged coastline. You can surf there, too, but make sure you wear a wetsuit...the water is like ice! ?

Ha! Ha! @Junebug, you are correct. It was the sun!!!! I got all screwed up. My friend and I were coming down the coast in the late afternoon in January, headed for Canon Beach. It looked so dramatic that I couldn't resist stopping and taking the photo. No moon. Zilch the sunset! That'll teach anyone to trust my memory!!! :rolleyes:
