Lol No fun if you don't know who the gossip is about. I like knowing about gossip, but not gossiping lol...
Have I told you about Marta? Next door neighbor. Really chatty girl, throws lots of parties, they smoke way too much weed, recently discovered how to use the washing machine, washes stuff at 4 in the morning and goes to sleep so I wake up with the machine beeping. She must be the best roomate ever :hilarious:

Honestly I’m a bit surprised that’s the first time I actually mentioned the name of the University. I’m incredibly proud of having gone there. But don’t want to be a dick either, lol

One time I was helping a student tour and she was bragging that she was “considering Harvard.” Lol, no, you aren’t, or you wouldn’t be touring in the South!

University has a very low acceptance rate, though, so she never got in c:

But for the record, people who don’t go to college are also smart, and they don’t try to rub it in people’s faces (usually — my dad claims to have gone to Harvard but dropped out because they weren’t enough for his astronaut skills ?)

I probably shouldn’t talk about this subject much in this diary though. It’s not particularly useful for healing :P

....but I will say Brandi was denied from attending this school before she even applied, so that was funny (in retrospect)

But I know other people who were denied who I know are going to be amazing people, including Micah who plans on being a Supreme Court judge one day — so you can’t judge Brandi on that account. Though she does not have the discipline to do that kind of stuff, but that’s beside the point

I hope this doesn’t sound like me being full of myself though. Most people don’t go to any college and do totally fine!

Here’s something useful for this diary, though: My goal in high school was to graduate college, and I’m really thankful for the teacher who taught me to think like that because it made me very serious about the end goal while also doing the little goals along the way. Which means that when Brandi told me to drop out because she wanted me to live with her again, and was secretly jealous that she couldn’t overcome her own anxiety (I didn’t feel like explaining the backstory. Hopefully that doesn’t sound exaggerated) I refused, because I HAD to graduate, no exceptions. Including a medical withdrawal.

Which was also the beginning of the end between me and Brandi, because then I went to Belize and she cheated on me, but that turned out to be the best :)

Oh my gosh, no. Lol, what a treasure! I had a roommate from Dubai (born in India) who wouldn’t clean anything. It was terrible! She as a good person but the WORST roommate. Plus, she got into this toxic friendship and the friend did hard drugs and she, being raised by crazy strict parents and therefore not even being educated in the fact that drugs can be dangerous, just went with it! We quit being roommates after that. I hope she’s okay today! I probably won’t ask her, though

There was a guy on this board with the same name as R who vanished when I came back to post. I keep wondering if it's him. Probably not, but I saw a few posts and thought "Oh, man, so similar" but I don't know, and honestly, I don't care.

There is also an apartment complex in a cheaper part of town which is known for drug addicts robbing people? One time a bullet went through a neighbor’s walk into her house? So, uh, probs not there.

I moved to an extremelly cheap one (I was actually making good money then, but thought to save, which I actually didn't) but had rats under the floorboards!!

In first year the guy living across the hall from me in my hall of residence used to cook rice in his bedroom and set off the smoke alarm at like 4 in the morning once.
Then I had a flatmate a couple of years ago (long story, I'll probably diary about it one day), who didn't tell us that she was moving out; stuff just started slowly disappearing (she owned it)- TV.. microwave.. washing machine..
When she left she never came back to clean out her room and it was a sty.
At one stage there was also a continual line of ants that went alllllll the way from the front door, around the lounge, down the hallway, and into her room.
My other flatmate and I googled ways to kill ants and found some random site that said orange was good, so we made little bridges of orange peel in the path of their trail :D

And then last year I had a flatmate who had a thing about turning off switches at the wall and one day turned the oven off at the wall while my other flatmate's dinner was in there cooking :hilarious:

I guess not! I’m always worried about offending people? So far I’ve only offended one person, and it was because I “disagreed too much” by asking questions for clarifications, so I realized that person was symptomatic and should block me :) She got banned later though got a sCaNdAl so that was fun

I worry about this kind of thing also, actually, and have been having weird dreams where Brandi or Jamie or my dad get an account to handle their traumas (though Jamie’s traumas were all made up, which I don’t say lightly, I mean she was taking pleasure in messing up people’s lives by claiming they had done evil things), and they usually end up finding my diary and claiming I lied. Lol. Paranoid brain!

It’s based on an event that actually happened though so I won’t make fun of my brain too much! But Jamie can no longer shame me for not appreciated the nice things Brandi has done for me, lol. Jamie is an idiot

Luckily I could block them if I ever needed to!

There was Ana, this really cool chick who was actually pretty cool as a person, but used to dye her hair red then I don't know.... shake it like a dog? So there was red dots everywhere on the bathroom, then she would leave it for me to clean. lol Not funny then, funny now.

There was M who was a cocaine addict and broke up with his girlfriend then got angry with me because I defended HIM. That was weird.

Then there was the all know it all R, my ex, who would use acrylics and toxic paints to dry and the whole house became toxic!

These are funny and terrible at the same time!

Worst thing a roommate ever did to me was let a couple sleep in my bed. A guy called R (from Hondorus) who was abusing her and her who was trying to be polite about using my bed so made it up nicely and made sure to clean part of my room ? but then he also tried to vacuum and then they left SO MUCH TRASH

But it really explained the dirty spots on my white sheets! So confusing, because I shower because bed so how did I get dirt in there?? Lol

My neighbors were way worse than the roommates so I hardly care about them now!

In terms of actual house-quirks though, probably my favourite one we had was the house that a two way cupboard- one side opened into the kitchen and the other opened into the shower (it was only head height and upwards, not full body height... but still! WTF)
