It literally got me from the couch, to running 5 kilometres.
Earlier this year, I couldn't even walk for 20 seconds without feeling faint and needing to sit down (I was in the thick of an eating disorder, and doing regular 36 hour/sometimes 48 hour fasts), let alone run any distance.
With the help of my GP, T and dietician, I got my eating disorder back under (healthy)control, and then was able to turn my attention to exercise, in advance of my upcoming spine surgery next year.
It has been a real challenge, both mentally and physically, but this morning in my last run of my couch to 5k app, I ran 5.5 km in 40 minutes, without any breaks! And I didn't feel out of breath when I finished!
Next goal: 10 km.. bring it on :)
Oh and today also marks my one year freedom anniversary since leaving my abusive ex! Double win!
