Hope everyone is having an okay Wednesday and not having too much of an emotional hangover from The Stupid Festivities Which Shall Remain Unnamed...

Are you doing anything nice for yourself today? :)

Yes I did.
I allowed myself to accept an invitation for dinner from a family that has only met me once.

I gave my mom a hug while keeping ptsd gremlin in check before leaving. I went to a small dinner and was able to be honest about my ptsd sensors on alert and that tbi can misread environment so i will hang out with the dog when i am rattled. I am not the same person after accident.

It turned into an informative discussion on the brain and trauma. When we are awake we collect data..when we sleep the brain edits the data into memory.

The host even dimmed the lights so i can eat without wearing shades. It was a very hard to describe positive feeling. Many times when people learn about the brain injury and ptsd they distant themselves from me...or some have even asked if i would be the next mass murdrr serial killer then send me articles from news supporting their prejudice on me.

Thanks for asking.
We are half way thru.. Christmas done...now we rest for new years day. Oh those fireworks and noise... hanging on still clenching.

So it's 9 pm on Boxing Day here... And I'm trying to work out whether it's safe to turn on the radio yet... Do they just keep playing carols even when Boxing Day is nearly over??
Gah... probably better not to risk it.
Surely tomorrow, which is a normal work day here, the radio will be back to normal and everyone will have completely overdosed on carols and be like OMG get them away for me for the next 12 months! :P

the radio will be back to normal
Sadly 'Normal' includes the daily Overdose of Brexit. It has been a pleasant reprieve from that over the past week, even though I am not a fan of that actual time in December that has just -passed.

as of yesterday (boxing day) there are no more christmas carols on radios or stupid movies on tv ?
the world has returned to normal

booya!

and i can be my normal grumpy self without some stupid reference to scrooge ?
Yessss - I just put the radio on in the car and its nooooormaaal :D

We made it!! We survived!!
