IME of these types of phonecalls as a health professional, they tend to be a lot faster and vague than any convo I imagine people have about me as a patient. Usually "P and I think it might be helpful if you knew this" "okay, for any specific reason or just something to be aware of" "something to be aware of (or whatever)" "cool thanks bye".
I also told him the well woman exams and having students in the room really bothers me
The appointment with my doctor was ok. Therapist told me what he told them: That I have PTSD from sexual abuse and the ultrasound triggered me.
I tried to avoid the conversation with my GP completely, but he asked about it. All he said was if the time came that I wanted to try medication for anxiety he was happy to help and that anxiety could be interfering with my trying to get pregnant.
I also told him the well woman exams and having students in the room really bothers me. He understood and said I just need to let them know what I need.
I am going to try a specialist again for my gynecological stuff. I’m going to try to have the ptsd conversation on my own this time.
Thank you. The place I go now is really good about asking to bring students in beforehand, I always feel guilty for saying no. The place I used to go, they didn't ask and then a student would come in and I'd feel bad about just saying they need to leave. I'm not great at assertiveness. You should have been asked beforehand if students were ok and given the opportunity to refuse.
He was. He didn't try to force medication on me or make me feel bad or broken. I'm seeing a specialist in a couple weeks. I'm hoping I can have the conversation with this doctor on my own and he's just as respectful. If not, I don't know that I really need the specialist, so nothing to lose. It'll be a learning experience I guess. So, it sounds like he was pretty respectful?
. Wow. I don't even have the words. Just wow. That is ridiculous!and he ended up deciding I had evil inside (yes, he used that term) and recommending an exorcism.
