Readers thread: what or who are you reading right now?

I didn’t love The Sence of the Girls and couldn’t finish it but it’s in my audible library and as my phone line is still down it’s what I am reading today. It’s a beautifully written piece of work but it so closely mirrors my own now ‘default’ mood of ‘thing’ and powerlessness and inevitability that it’s not ‘powerfully feminist’ to me but ‘heartbreakingly cynical’. There are four hours left but, well, I know how the story ends. I love Greek myths and I love many of the reworks of them so maybe this will win me over before the end. I’d say it’s a great book for younger people reading the Myths to counterbalance the Male Gaze.

I downloaded the first book on my recommendation list while at therapist office on her WiFi ?.

It’s The wArlow experiment. About a rich man in I think 18th century who keeps a poor man in a room for seven years as an experiment for the impact on well being.

Makes me laugh; ‘i’ll Have a period version of my life post ptsd please’

EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique for PTSD, by Gary Craig - found it at the library and am revisiting trying out the tapping techniques.

Goodbye Autoimmune Disease: How to Prevent and Reverse Chronic Illness and Inflammatory Symptoms Using Supermarket Foods, By Brooke Goldner, M.D. - found a used version for a few bucks and I'm fascinated with her story.

The Bilology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, and Miracles, by Bruce Lipton - also found at the library and am equally fascinated by his trains of thought.

Omg - read this one asap and please give a critical analysis of whether I should try to find it. I need some info., re this type of disorder fast. Thank you TT.

I'm not a speedy reader by any means, lol, but will let you know once I dive in. I've already experienced exceptional results by changing my consumption habits almost similar to what she suggests for a while, but didn't stick with it. Dammit. I'm trying to find inspiration to get back to a state of much less pain and loss of some excess weight I've once again found that I had lost.

Meanwhile, here's a review that prompted me to go ahead get the book (plus I've seen a lot of her and her husband's you tube stuff):

She (Dr. Brooke Goldner at goodbyelupus.com) also offers free classes online at various times. You can purchase lifetime access to the recordings (I have not and don't know anyone who has) or just wait for the next free offering. She has a lot of info on you tube, as well. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the youtube referral... I'm going to see what I can get. USA and down under don't always get the same access to everything but will give it a red hot go. Well perhaps red hot... trying to avoid all things inflammatory lol.... so better start with my language ..shrug...
