Last movie or tv series you watched?

My fav. Tom Clancy Heir Apparent died of cancer only maybe a dozen books in... but Vince Flynn & Mitch Rapp are stellar if you haven’t read those books, yet! Less “how the f*ck does he get his intel?” & more great story telling
Been watching the movie adaption today, and I’m not a fan. The Maze Runner kid for young Rapp is a good choice, but the script ist fur scheisse. :shifty: It’s like they tried to combine the first book in the series (where Rapp is a totally confidant badass with years of experience and trust built) with the prequel where he’s a dumb kid who lost his fiancé and just starting out and determination + raw talent is blowing people away... And it’s a clusterf*ck. Totally missed the mark in every single way. :wtf: Probably the worst bit is that they made him a vigilante, but the second worst is that they tried to make Stan “cool” Argh. Just feels like a Michael Keaton ego parade. Maybe it would be okay if I hadn’t read the books. But as it is? It’s just Hollywood vexing.

^Yeah.. there are so few movies that live up to a story depicted within a book.

I'm perpetually disappointed by movies when I've had the insight the author provided by writing a book.

Ultimately though I'm usually pleased I've read the book rather than relied only on the movie.

Mule - Clint Eastwood - Netflix

Great movie - Clint doing what he knows how to do best - directing himself in a movie yay!!

I enjoyed it even though being a drug mule is not an activity I generally admire. But who says I have to like what my favourite stars do in a fictional setting anyway?

It was raw and uncluttered in its depiction of a old bloke in a fix and just a little bit funny if you know anything on how the generations tend to view each other.

Good to see Clint still at it lol...

G Men. Starring James Cagney 1935.

J has been talking like an old time gangster all night.

Me: Whatcha getting in there?
J in his James Cagney voice: Gettin' some moo juice ya see. Nuttin' you do is gonna stop me, ya see". ??? (The man is a goofball. Sorry ladies he's all mine!)

We have seen it a few times together through the years. We loooove the old ones best!!
