K arrived safely. New trainer and incredibly different approach to everything.
K has such a chilled out temperament but to be fair, she's been travelling for about nine hours so maybe I'll see more of the real K tomorrow after she's had tea and a good sleep.
But she saw the magpies & other wildlife outside and went yeah heh new person, not bothered are you?? - did the point thing that Beagles do, looked at me saying yep you've got some birds over there, shall I chase or not? I did nothing so she put her foot, nose and tail down and sauntered back to me saying, hey if you're not bothered then I'm not either.
B in contrast, bolted for the back door, bolted around the yard fourteen times, tried out all weak points for escaping, bounced off the fences to see if he could fling himself over and could not tolerate any other living thing on the grounds. No checking out person (me) there was too many other things to get settled. But I loved that too.
So so far, so good.
Atm she's chilling out next to my feet & remains on the lead for 24 hours except whilst crated so she knows that I'm her person. I wonder what she's thinking.
The trainer is ex dog handler from the air-force and seemed to want to talk a little bit about ptsd. That was ok too. He's brought an apprentice with him to learn the ropes too.
The next week will be full on. We've got all sorts of things to do and places to go so that he, the trainer, knows everything is good. He said that he's not worried about any mistakes we make because he's here right now to sort them out.
I thought the other trainer was lovely and everything but this guy has an easy confidence about him and definitely that dog sense. He said he likes dogs more than humans. So he goes up to the top of the score board for that imo.
Check in again soon.
