So some people just don't give a shit about social distancing

I just went to Target and they had stickers on the floor every 3 feet promoting social distancing. ( just for awhile.. Not the whole store but an individual ' gets it' when they walk in) I thought that was pretty cool.

They're doing this in every store (grocery, hardware, Target, ...) here, but people completely disregard any sense of distance in the aisles. I have the same experience, actually...

We have been operating as if everyone that we come in contact with has Covid19.

We don't go near anyone at all. I have made it clear to everyone that I wont be seeing anyone for at least 3-6 months possibly 9 months 12 months or possibly 18 months. It's time for people to stop being unrealistic about the situation. No one is welcome here - and due to renos and B's being so sick we hadn't had folks over for a very long time anyway.

We don't want to clog up the hospital system so we will not get infected.

We wash and wipe everything that gets delivered. Food, boxes, letters, packages. We wipe down the letter box with disinfectant once per day, and wipe the gate and everything around there in case a delivery person has touched something. We use gloves to wash everything then we disinfectant our shoes, clothes and have a shower and change clothes. You really can't be too careful.

People blow my mind. I guess Target needs a film with people walking three feet away from each other when they first walk in as well. ?

This really irks me. The state of Vermont can kiss my rosey red .... They want Wal-Mart, Target and whoever else to sell essential items! That's not paying the associates in the building!! Or the light bill or lease. Stupid people.. ( rant over)

Makes sense to me... but I’ve also always rather liked Vermont’s no nonsense approach to problems. They’re rarely sexy, but they get serious results by not dicking around.

They’re also not limiting what can be sold, they’re limiting where it can be sold.

Whenever possible, stores such as Walmart, Target and Costco must stop the sale of nonessential items within the store and require online or telephone ordering, delivery, and curbside pickup instead.

Big box retailers generate significant shopping traffic by virtue of their size and the variety of goods offered.

“This volume of shopping traffic significantly increases the risk of further spread of this dangerous virus to Vermonters and the viability of Vermont’s health care system. We are directing these stores to put public health first and help us reduce the number of shoppers by requiring on-line ordering, delivery and curbside pickup whenever possible, and by stopping the sale of non-essential items," Agency of Commerce and Community Development Secretary Lindsay Kurrle said in a statement.

That clothing fell within the non-essential category surprised me... until I thought about it for 2 seconds and remembered that people TRY ON clothes in the store. Since the virus can live for up to 5 days on fabric? That’s like getting naked and hugging everyone else who has tried on that shirt or pair of trousers in the past week. :eek: So much for 6 feet of distance! But clothes that are ordered online? Are both handled minimally, and then spend days in transit, allowing any contamination to die off. Problem neatly solved.

I currently live in the UK. It’s not a problem for me - I am not a Muslim - but some people give/ receive racism because of it. There are very heated views on face covering at times. Which generally means ‘niquab’ . Not say - motorcycle face covering. I attended an eye clinic ( as a patient) where people were very vocal in the waiting room that one of the drs was wearing hijab ( not niquab) . She was one of the best drs I have EVER had anywhere in the world- only a young woman , and had to insist on what she had seen being looked at by a consultant who proceeded to ridicule her in front of me. She was right.

Using a free at point of use service if my dr is clean, adequately educated and kind I couldn’t care if they are atheist, Muslim, Jew, pagan or how they vote. Shrug.

China being full of shit is all starting to seep out the cracks now. An entire part of China is now in lockdown with new cases. China gave up information inadvertently, by making all citizens use an app which gives them a green, amber or red status to show as they move around. In one town there is over 1 million red assigned persons, which is do not leave your house due to infection. Good old intelligence. Nothing is ever secure.

Don't feel bad America, I don't think you're in as bad a shape as what China actually is.

And further to that, WHO director in bed with Chinese Government: WHO ‘parroted Chinese propaganda’ about coronavirus

A lot of traction to have him removed, and the parroted lies from China that cost the world two months mitigation strategy. While China was burning bodies, the world was being infected while China was smiling and lying the entire time.

Day by day, I think the world will sanction China simply by moving out their manufacturing and business from the country, crippling its economy backwards.
