Today is 2 weeks and 5 days since Morrison stopped telling Australians to go to the footy, restaurants or out with your friends. Countries had been locked down for weeks and he was still looking forward to the footy on the Saturday. He has to own that.
f*cking Australian journalists are sucking up to Morrison saying that he is rising to the occasion when he hasn't put in the basics that the World Health Organisation that are the backbone of Covid19 management;. I am so livid. For f*ck's sake do at least ONE Google before you be sycophants. And it's giving Australians are false sense of security and they are continuing to go out.
We are at the point now where folks are going to stop looking at us funny when we turn up to the front gate with masks, gloves and fully suited. We have been disinfecting the front gate and the letter box and now I will disinfect the front driveway.
I was exposed and went into lockdown in February. I was wondering when someone was going to notice that no much on the efficacy of masks has been translated into English.
I am also quarantining myself from my partner so I am constantly cleaning things in the house. It's exhausting. I fear for the doctors and the nurses - it's so easy to make a mistake and then have to go back and clean everything again.
But I have modeled best practice and a few people who wouldn't have otherwise worn scarves have been doing so. Small contributions but at least I did something.
I sent the delivers information on masks and wrote if you can't get masks, scraves, sheets and anything will do.
We have to two P95 masks because if either one has to go to hospital we don't want to infect everyone on the way or in the ambulance.
I told folks if you can buy P95's buy them and send them to your nearest hospital - we need just enough to protect ourselves. Lesser equipment.
I really tried to contact journalists and other folks to say hey that mask thing is pretty important - look what they are doing in all the countries that have successful suppression/mitigation/few cases - they all wear masks. This was where calling it the Chinese Virus became dangerous - folks were engaging in racist tropes instead of going what are they doing that works and let's follow that.
Our level of quarantine is high because B has had multiple operations earlier this year and late last year.
And because we have cleaned and modeled cleaning to each person it's been like a ripple effect.
I wrote to all the grandmothers saying I have a theory and said the virus comes from the kids to the grandkids and back to the kids - young people, that's when they die. All family members were wearing masks at home and washing themselves and their clothes and wearing masks before engaging with young people.

The private schools were having emergency meetings in January about how to have students at home and do home learning and they had device practice in Feb. They knew it was coming. How did our Prime Minister fail to act.
Australia is yet to implement our Australian Health Management Plan for Pandemic Influenza in any meaningful way. But it's too late now. Morrison was briefed in November but failed to act. I know a doctor that quit because of the lack of PPEs he doesn't go near anything that arrives in his house for 24 hours and then he washes it down. With food B and I have been washing everything down, even the boxes, we have been cleaning everything down. Because I didn't want anything coming in from outside but also not infecting B is important.
But I realise now I should have been spraying the drive way, so I dropped the ball there.
I tried to get people to wear masks but they were too busy being racist and calling it a Chinese Virus and they all missed the boat and it became exhausting to deal with that certain level of sexist White man who has to fight just to prove his superiority and a lot of other folks wouldn't wear scarves because that would mean they had to face what was coming.
Ironically we will now manage 3, 6, 9 12 -18 months because of infection control I obsessively did with Papa Bear and also the idiot that exposed me - I would have gone back into the schools, I would have infected lots of people without my knowledge base, and I would not have been ready as I am now.
