I am very worried about America. I am glad that this information is getting out there. It's sometimes hard to follow what is getting through in the media. There's WHO press briefings and some Science not getting through the Australian media.Basically, it shows that while the US as a whole is declining, once the big cities are removed, the rate is actually climbing.
How many are looking for answers and are jumping on the conspiracy wagon?
For the first time, I feel like my job is at real risk.
Reactivation is different than reinfection. That Korean Specialist in Ebola, Mers, SARS etc said you can get it again. He calls it reactivation.
Maybe there are options through the local public health dept if they are out of step with public health mandates? Tough position all the same. Blowing such a whistle could come with it's own problems. My county will be moving from the red phase to the yellow phase on Friday. My supervisor has informed me that I will be expected to return to work next Monday, even though the guidelines for the yellow phase continue to mandate telework.
Most of the time, there's enough "truth" in a successful conspiracy theory to make it sound plausible, at least superficially. But, I'd be surprised if there was any more truth than that in the more common ones I've heard. Is there any truth at all to these conspiracy theories? H
You know, weirdly, I think the current national government might be too utterly chaotic to pull off a good lie, long term. I think we're getting bad information, or information that's not really informed by science, we're certainly getting rapidly changing and sometimes conflicting information, but it takes a certain ability to stick to a coherent plan to manage a large scale lie. I'd almost feel better if I thought they could manage a lie. (Don't take that to mean I believe them, BTW.)How much are we being lied to by our government?
Having asthma places you in the high risk category... who are “supposed” to be first out, last back. There’s probably a politically suave way to remind them of that.. and their liability to civil suits from the estates of their high risk employees who fall ill after being threatened with job loss if they don’t return early. If I can't continue to telework, I'll have to use that option.
Talking to one of their lawyers off the record about my concerns? (Hey... have you heard management is ordering their high risk employees back early? Isn’t that setting up the company for a major shitstorm?) Nearly always sets a lawyer on fire / handling the politically suave reminder to management. :sneaky: I looooove pissed off lawyers. They’re just so dang competent.
