Some states never locked down. Most are doing ok. Some states and areas can open up sooner.

We do not have good options for areas with more infections. There are tools to keep slowing the spread.

The horrible reality is that eventually people do have to go back to work. Work can't stop for the possible 2 years it will take for herd immunity to develop through infection or vaccine.

whiteraven- I have a neighboring state opening up too, but no daycare. I dont know who they think are going to watch all these kids (daycare age or school age) when daycares are closed and schools are closed. I understand why they are not opening daycares. Then they are talking about a huge monthly check for few months....not making sense to me.

We never locked down and I was glad about it. Things are starting to open up but the older people are still real scared. Most people that are dying from Covid, here and now in my state, are inmates and people in nursing homes or assisted living. The wipe-downs and disinfecting the businesses will have to do, are just crazy, stupid, and will end up costing the business so much extra time and money. ( time is money)

The democrats are talking about another stimulus but Trump has not said anything about it. While this isn't a political rant, $1200 is not much to get by.

Mind blown.

The White House and most Republicans seem to think that this crisis will be solved by loudly announcing the reopening of the economy. But this is a dangerous misunderstanding of what’s actually driving the recession: It’s the pandemic, stupid. The shutdowns themselves had “little or no impact on economic activity” according to an analysis by a team of economists at Harvard. Several papers now show that the decline in spending and employment in most cases occurred before states officially shut down their economy. Governments didn’t close state economies on their own, and they can’t open the economies on their own, either. " It’s the Pandemic, Stupid

They are right. I have been reading various versions of this argument for awhile and the data add up. the economy would have crashed no matter what we did... either the deaths or fear of deaths would have done it, shutdowns were just a small factor.

At the heart of the crisis in the US is a failure of anyone to set a clear vision uniting the nation together to overcome the fear in order to shutdown, stay home, go back to work, whatever option is right.

We need a Churchill.

I live in an apartment building. A lady two doors down and across the hall from me had to be tested for it yesterday. Her Dr does not think she has it but is being cautious, because she has a cough.

While we await the results, I am going on with my life cautiously. I did inform my two health care workers of the situation, letting them make their own decisions accordingly. One of them said she can't come here to help me until the results are in. I said I understood. I am sure the other will say the same, once she speaks to her supervisor.

So here I sit, Wondering who will help me. At least I don't need help taking a shower any longer. Before I got my neck brace off a week ago, I did need a lot more help.

Probably the first time since it was invented, people have cursed Central Air & Heating.

Similar to Rome’s 2,000 year highly successful fire management plan (most people don’t have kitchens in their homes, or minimal facilities at best, everyone eating out) coming into question during every epidemic. Blew my mind, the first time I lived in Rome. I’d heard soooooo much about Italian cooking,,, an no one cooked!

Central Air is so much more effective than unit by unit heating/cooling, but it makes the spread of airborne illness uncontrollable.

@blackemerald1 Maybe a lack of adequate PPE or proper disposal areas?
If the helper can't adjust the tenant visitation schedule, they may not be able to place possible infected at the end of the queue.

Don't know one way or the other, just guessing.
