Angelo's mind blurred over some of the things he heard, but when he heard then he was instantly focused on whomever said that> He was rather sure it was Nia. All things fishing were open in his mind. She just needed to ask for specifics and he'd 'pour out' whatever he could to aid her in that quest.
Farine focused on "Ohhh.. We can cook it this afternoon and enjoy it over the next day or so. and Marshmallows? We've got skewers here somewhere...
... Angelo pointed to the right duffel bag immediately for the skewers. His index finger worked just fine.
She thought about this a moment.. "I'm doing things taht I think can easily be taken down and not disrupt the site for someone else. There is a spot where there is a lot of nice quartz .. not rose of course.. that's semi precious... but nice big crystals.. it's near the river you're thinking about going to. I could mark it on the map.. I"m thinking of spoiling him rotten.. " She threw her thumb over her shoulder to point to Angelo.
He just grinned.. he was sort of stuck there .. what could he do? He shrugged elegantly.
Mia turned to Farine, Rock hunting sounds fun. Mizzy will get the chicken ready. It will take a good couple of hrs-but fire roasted barbecue chicken is my favorite! You just need to let her know when you want to put it on to cook. She’ll leave it all put together ready for the fire and while I head off rock hunting.
Quartz reminds me of when I was in up state NY Hiking with my cousins, guess I was just 16..... I found a big piece of pink quartz and brought it home for my fish tank. Rocks can be so interesting and beautiful! I was so thrilled and it was heavy carrying it the last couple of miles we hiked. Didn’t know much about leaving nature where it belongs back then....”
Mia went on gabbing, “I doubt I’ll be that long rock hunting and hiking, and I should have time to get some fishing in on the way back.”
Mia turned to Angelo and said, “Angelo you look like you are almost ready for a nap. If you are awake when I return, I’d be grateful to hear your hot tips on fishing. Sounds like fun, fresh water fishing. I’m well versed in saltwater fishing, and do well with freshwater catfish if-I’m using live bait, but lures aren’t my specialty-but I usually learn pretty quickly when it comes to things about the water.”
Mia started walking away, still yammering and more loudly said, “Mizzy is going to hang back and relax-she’s on for the chicken. I’m going to go get my camera, backpack, and I have your map marked where the rocks should be. Gonna see if Billie’s parents would like a short term sitter. Since the mention of bears, I got my bear spray w me. I could tell you bear stories.... met one on the Yellowstone Bridge...... no -gotta go, no time Now.....that’s a story for another time.... gotta take no chances around bears!” and off Nia went, energetically waving her hand goodbye At Farine.
She grabbed her stuff and stopped to see Billie’s parents.
“I’m headed out for no more than a couple of hrs To go rock hunting. If Billie would like to come, she’s most welcome. Mizzy wasn’t up for another hike right now, so she’s fixing the chicken, listening to her music, and gonna catch up on reading and relaxing.Thought you might like a little quiet time”
