Sending Christmas Card Inappropriate?

I am finishing up addressing my Christmas cards and would like to send one to both of my T's. I always sent holiday cards to my clients and frequently got them from them too. Is that inappropriate? My husband says it is. What do you think, is that crossing boundaries?

I personally don't think it is inappropriate. I hadn't thought of sending mine a christmas card, but actually, that's a nice gesture. However, I guess I'd add to that - what I'd put in it would be brief.

Such as 'Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, With Regards.....'

etc.

AdamAnt makes a very good point - therapists are people too.

I appreciate it so much when my clients send me a greeting card. Makes me feel like I have done a good job. So on that note.....I might get my counsellor a card!

At the end of the day Iam......you have to do what you feel is right. I think a Christmas card is nice and shows appreciation to therapist. As long as your intent is only that and the words convey such a message I think it would be received well.

Thanks you guys/gals. I know that my primary T had said in my first session that by law they cannot accept gifts. And I certainly wouldn't want to be "friends" with either of my therapists (also against the law) as that would hinder my sharing. Both are christians and I would do it only as a gesture of honoring their beliefs as well as the help they have given me. I actually would only sign my name without any other comment.

Thanks Nicolette. I just mailed your card today so it may not get there in time. I hope it does!

Thanks for this thread Iam, I've been wondering about doing the same.

I'll post one to my psych tomorrow!
