You Know You Have PTSD When...

You know you have PTSD when . . .

You get a tattoo to celebrate surviving what you've been through, then find that the tattoo reminds you of what you've been through and you then want to get it removed.

You have a document on your computer containing a plan for what you would do if anything happened to your partner.

Your partner is ten minutes late home and you immediately assume he's dead and start weeping.

Did teach her that the deadliest weapon in the world is a properly shoved ink pin.

Haha.... no, on the breach, bang, and clear. I don't have any actual combat training besides martial arts and a bad attitude. When threatened he blacks out and goes berserker, so I also know how to bring him back out of that and we've discussed how I'd work WITH that. But we have weapons stashed around the house and have had long discussions about 'improvised' weapons, such as hair sticks and pens.

You know you have PTSD when you're so tired from cleaning your in laws house (they're vv old) and fixing their computers that you have to sleep through the next day. And when you do, you keep dreaming that you're so tired you can't keep your eyes open but can't sleep because people keep asking you to do stuff.

~Grins~ Have had those discussions, along with the discussions on what to do in the event of chemical/bio terrorist attack, and what chemicals can not be mixed together on account of what reactions can occur.

Not sure how its done, the few times I have went "Berserk" in the civilian populous I have awaken to find myself with a tremendous head ache, and hand cuffed to a gurney.

Trying not to get off subject but it "stupefies" G/f to what extent we are trained.

You know you have PTSD when you find yourself highly irritated at other peoples inconsideration of others around them.

I take an inventory when I walk into a room.
not sure I do it too, at work and at home as I look at piles of stuff in the floor.

Heh, piece of cake, my husband is a carpenter, and that's what the back of his car looks like. Mine has pool test equipment, a styrofoam container to put stuff in I don't want to slide around, a laundry basket for books, magazines, and things I share, a change of clothes, a case of water, and my emergency kit with cpr mask and first aid kit. Oh yeah and a 6 pack cooler for whatever my lunch or dinner is, because I got to bring it with the allergies.
