I would like to know who told you that your nerve leg symptoms are PTSD related - especially 15 years after the accident? I have these symptoms, called sciatica and they are from spinal injury and not brain injury. I also have left sided body pain, specifically shoulder, arm and neck but they are all related to my back injury.
I had 2 different MRIs of my lower back, looking for back injuries. The Dr who read the MRI said that he wished his back looked as good as mine. I get these funny nerve signals going down my back and spine. I believe that the PTSD/mental breakdown messed up my entire nervous system. As far as left sided PTSD symptoms, my left arm is affected. My doctor told me that people with psychological damage from PTSD will sometimes shut down the left side of their body, while those with severe physical injuries and PTSD will often shut down the right side of their body. Your left side, he said, is you more feminine, emotional side. Fear shuts it all down.
