The Small Things In Life. What Makes You Happy?

It's Friday and I'm home  but I'm watching Golden Girls and it's a small thing that makes me laugh and for some reason makes me happy. It reminds me of when I was a child and I would watch it then (I didn't fully understand all of the jokes ;)) I guess it reminds me of innocent and happy times... it just made me wonder, what are the little things that make you happy.

A few years back some friends gave me a certificate and bought me an honorary degree from Universal Life Church. They gave it to me for my volunteering. At first I was offended, thinking they were making fun of my impairments and efforts. But then Rick (one of them) explained to me that they really have no other way to express their gratitude for what I have done. He said that IO have done a lot, considering my disability, my impairments, the trials I go through, and I never let it get me down. I still do something for my country. More than they can do, so they were showing me their appreciation.

I like this thread.

Coffee and cream (when I can drink it)

Hot sweet Darjeeling tea

Chocolate

Being able to weed my garden

Finding frogs and toads and just looking at and holding them

Catching lizards/snakes in my yard and just looking at and holding them

Watching the birds at my feeder

Organizing

I suppose this is also a partial list of what 'calms me down.'

My pets.
A good meal with a friend or my husband.
Smelling the scent of flowers.
Gingerbread.
Eating ice cream (which I'm allergic to but it always reconnects me to a happy time - my grandfather and I used to sneak out to the deep freeze with iced tea spoons and sit on the floor of the garage, sneaking a snack of ice cream straight from the carton when my grandmother was unaware.)
Swimming.
Going for a long drive.
Rainbows.
Holding my husband's hand.
