Oh Heather, that's so horrifying. He's so lucky that you made the decision to end it for him as painlessly as possible. If he had died out there, that would have been horrible. You must be just SO angry right now!!!! ((((heather))))

I am so sorry Heather... I sadly know it feels to lose a beloved kitty. It is a terrible thing to endure.

Just remember you gave that nice little kitty a nice home and a nice life. Remember the good snuggles... kitty snuggles are the best!

After my Bruce died we eventually took in a new kitty, Bernie. While we love Bernie, nobody could replace Bruce in our hearts. But his silly cute face helps.

I am so sorry for your loss, Heather! Take care!

Heather, I'm so so sorry for both of your losses. Our pets are our family and bring us so much loyal love it can more than heart breaking to lose them. My heart is with you both at this difficult time.

Hugs,
Rain

I saw your avatar and burst into tears. I'm sorry but "Blue" looked exactly like that. I know I did the right thing but it just hurts. I love your avatar and everytime I see it I will think of him.

Thanks Hazen for your kind words.

So sorry Heather.
Take care of yourself.
I am so pleased to see that you got some books to read with Nicole. She will be having a hard time trying to understand this too, but she will also be a comfort to you. I like the idea of the balloon to heaven.

(((Heather))) (((Nicole)))

I'm so sorry. It is awful losing a family pet, they are family members.

I love your collage of photos, you have some wonderful memories, hold on to those.

HUGS

Oh Heather, I only just saw this. I am SO sorry. I don't want to sound like the kooky old biddy from the end of the block ( don't think I quite qualify yet- 53? ) but am pretty convinced they're still around us. I don't think you have to be relious to believe in the whole afterlife thing, you know? I know some really narrow belief systems seem to think 'heaven' is reserved exclusively for those who liveeatbreath in the confines of whomever got to make of their rules but that's nonsense. If any creatures get to enjoy whatever heaven really is, and then get to come hang around back here for comfort's sake it would be our animals- talk about pure, good spirits, right? I'm sorry you have this painful loss, especially with the added pain of thinking a vet's care could have helped. She's with you, really, although this probably doesn't help the grieving, I know.

(((((Heather))))) Please take care, ok?

Anni

Heather,
It is never easy losing the unconditional love of an animal. Know you did the best you could, gave Blue all you had and remember the funny moments you had together. What a wonderful tribute these pictures are. It is obvious he was well loved and that is so much more than alot of animals get. I have also lost animals to cancer and you had no way of knowing so please don't blame yourself, it is a cruel disease.

Heather, it is sad to lose a friend... we just lost our dog two weeks ago.. An old man shot our Loki in the throat (thought it was a chicken predator) ... a gentle creature. And, this is for you and Blue:

The Rainbow Bridge inspired by a Norse legend By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done. For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day. No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued. They romp through the grass, without even a care, Until one day they start, and sniff at the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack. For just at that instant, their eyes have met; Together again, both person and pet. So they run to each other, these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last. The sadness they felt while they were apart, Has turned into joy once more in each heart. They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together
