After further research into whether the site would become a non-profit or business, it can be now clearly stated, it will be a company entity.

The reason why is quite simple. The complexities of running a non-profit in Australia when such small overall amounts are concerned, is pretty much just not even a viable option, as the costs would outweigh the purpose of being a non-profit.

Instead, having a company entity is far cheaper, less restrictive and open to further progress. Saying that, it also removes the ability for donations, as you cannot just donate to an Australian company... you must be purchasing something. So donations will get removed and replaced by further account upgrades / accesses to assist site costs.

As I stated in another location, an annual profit and loss will still be published as per a non-profit is required, just so all members are assured everything remains above board and run as closely as possible to being a non-profit. The principles have not changed, being to use all monies possible going towards providing PTSD services to those in need.

Due to changes required and the loss of donations, the site will encompass a future resources directory to aid with running costs, separate to the forum and other site areas, allowing therapy professionals to pay a fee to have their own page in which they can interact with members, thus they already have a targeted audience.

Members can also rate professionals as they see them, removing any bias or bullshit from false claims anyone makes. This will replace the forum that currently is not really used, allowing members to recommend professionals themselves. This will swap it around, allowing professionals to market themselves in a restrictive area, and members to rate them accordingly based on performance if used.

If someone sees a bad therapist they may just get retraumatised and as the therapist
often takes on the parental/authorative role in some way, people often won't leave but stay and don't know better.

I can't really see people doing this.

I know you would Anthony. I just couldn't see myself doing it through all the bad ones I have had.

I should add one more into that, being: http://www.flashcoms.com/products/site_mail/overview/ will be installed here as part of the entire network upgrade for 2013 and beyond, to become a fully functional business model, working towards the goal of being able to provide some free and low cost counselling services at periodic times to those who cannot afford such / are not in a location to reach it.

The full price therapy will subsidise any low-cost or free hours given, is the aim.

The forum is a free resource, and will continue to be a free resource, as stated about this... nothing will change, just the site name.

There will be more on offer for people who do want to pay for specific help.

Members won't need to do a thing... it will simply be a site name change, which regardless which way you try to access the site, you will endup at the right location automatically.

Thank you Mr Wizard. I am sending out positive energy for everyone to find a source to upgrade their membership. Personally I so appreciate this site, the value can not be measured by $ alone!
