Have you got any tat's? How many? Where? What? Why? and When? Let's discuss our body art.

I have a rose on my right pec. I have a Male Fairy on my right ankle/calf. I have a rather large vampire bat on my left leg. I have a lizard on my neck. I have a unicorn and orchid on my right shoulder/back. I have a fat goldfish and oriental writing for "family" on my left shoulder going down left arm.

I have two more coming up. One is a blue ring octopus that will go on my left arm and a portuguese man o war, with his tentacles, going down left arm. I plan on a sleeve. I have plans of a horse shoe crab in the future, but the octopus and Portuguese come first.

I'd like to have one sometimes, but the problem is - tatoos are permanent, and if I do not like it in a while I can't erase it. IMO, temporary tatoos are better.

My avatar-left shoulder blade. I've thought of getting another one, but it has to have a lot of meaning to me and I haven't found another one yet. My tat is a Celtic symbol for the three stages of a woman's life-maiden, mother and crone. Plus the swirls are the symbol the wisdom and knowledge come from within rather from without.

Portabella, yours sound lovely!

I have several tats:

1. Indian script that reads "strength" on my leg
2. Phoenix on my left arm
3. Dagger on my left arm
4. Eye of Horus on my right arm
5. Ace of spades on my right arm
6. Pirate ship on my right arm

I'd like to get one on my left arm for my dad (who passed away a few years ago). It's hard deciding what to get, though, because it means resolving my feelings about some past stuff, which I can't seem to do...

I don't regret any of my tattoos. I have to wear long sleeves for work (they don't like teachers to flash a lot of ink!) but it's an avenue of expression for me.

I have a wolf cub stalking a butterfly on my left calf for my Goddess Daughter Tala (also my daughter's baby sister), Marvin Martian on my right calf for my son Jon, my youngest daughter Alicia's footprint from when she was a baby on my right upper arm, Taz on my left upper arm for my Nephew/Goddess Son Gregory and a Pentacle on the back of my neck and am currently having work done on a Goddess/Mother Earth on my back. After that will come a unicorn and something for the other two girls but I am not sure what yet.

Sounds awesome J. and K.!!!

Marilyn, you should check out henna tattoo's. I think that is what they are called and you can do them yourself. They last a bit longer than the peel and stick type.

Henna is good

I agree with Portabella that Henna is an easy and quick way to go. Plus if your artisitic you can do all sorts of designs, there are stencils you can buy to adhere to your body to use if you don't want to free hand it.

Personally, I don't have any tats but my son has one of a warrior goddess that reminds me of the cartoon character Wonder Woman. She is wearing a simple gold crown and has a cape and tall boots, holding a large celtic sword in front of her and it's on his upper left arm. It's about nine or ten inches tall and has many colors in it. I call it his Dragon Queen.

I have lots of dragon statues and ink drawings from the orient because I was born in the year of the water dragon. I never had the guts to get a tatoo because I wasn't sure if I would really like it after a while. My girlfriend got one while she was drunk and it had her current love interest's name emblazoned across her thigh. When they parted ways she had it blocked out and it looked rather crummy. So that was a lesson learned. Love, map9

I love Tattoos in fact I think that I m addicted to them I have several with some of meaning for each one.
I have a Canadian Flag on my right ankle,
I have horse head done in the Celtic manner on my left ankle calve has a shamrock in in it and the front of the horses neck is the date of my daughters birth and the back side of the mind by the mane is my wedding date, the tattoo was for my daughter the shamrock cause she was born on March 17, 2006, the Celtic horse represents Protector, caregiver and warrior
I have a dove with a rose on my left shoulder flying away it represents to me the innocence leaving being snatched away
and I have a Celtic love knot on my Right shoulder that was Our wedding symbol,--while there are many twist s=and turns and even crossings the lines always come together in the end meaning that the circle while tested has never come apart and broken
thats it right now.

I have a lot of tribal. I currently have and a small amount of cover up... A unicorn w/tribal - moon and clouds. Other is a Lion hiding behind Orchids. Those are on my pelvic bones and stomach. My entire lower back is tribal with my sign in the center of my lower back. Since I have 4 children and no plans for more I have their signs in a smaller version around my sign. The sides of my hips are fairly empty and since I am working on a belt... In the future I plan to have a nude woman on her knees in bondage once it is designed to my liking to represent this shit I have, PTSD. Other side I have ideas, but I need time to represent healing in my mind. Those will complete my belt. I also plan to do a simple bracelet with my husband's sign.

I have a butterfly on one shoulder for over 30 yrs now, it's getting faded and needs to be redone. I have a rose on the other shoulder and had it redone a year ago. I have broken heart over my heart and am considering having it redone into a 4 leaf clover (since my luck changed & I found ranger).
It's a personal taste for each person as I am sure everyone already knows.
Some of us like them, others don't. Same goes with piercing body parts.
I have done my ears, but won't go any where else on my body. LOL
YEP, I'm a chicken.... cluck, cluck LOL...

D

Great to see you back! I will not go into my piercings LOL.

Short revival. I have opted out of doing the sides of my hips. The design I have thought of and am going to go with will go on my back (been thinking of it a while). Money makes it a time issue. Still going to go nude woman bound in chains kneeling like a fade coming from my other back tat. Behind her another nude woman but stronger looking with broken chains an her wrists. All a representation of PSTD. When I am too old to have it will not happen to be an issue... It will always hold meaning as a phase in life just as PTSD shows phases.
