What Made You Angry Today?

I recently was a victim of credit card fraud. I filed a police report and opened a fraud case with my credit card company who then turned around and sent me a nasty letter, closed my account without telling me and is now demanding the money that I didn't spend. This has destroyed my credit rating and now my bank is treating me like the bad guy.

I recently was a victim of credit card fraud.

That is horrible! I had the same thing happen with my debit card and they wiped out my bank account. I was fortunate though, to get all my money back. The bank was very good.

I use to work for Mastercard/Visa. If they are the one's taking care of you then I am totally ashamed at their behavior because they have huge rule books pertaining to this very thing and the steps they have to go through.

I have also worked for many banks, and this behavior that you are being shown is totally inappropriate. The police who was handed your fraud case should have contacted your bank(mine did) in order to clear this up. Then they should have had their fraud department, at the bank, look into it by calling the various companies. If the charges are something you would have never done, point that out to them. Tell them to look at your history of charges. Contact the various credit rating companies and get that cleared up. You can file a claim(?) with them stating that this incident happened. They might need a copy of your police report. You can also have them add a note to attach to your credit reports regarding this incident.

Seriously, I'm hoping your bank had an oversight that they will quickly correct. If not, do not be hesitant in calling the companies in which charges were made. Tell them what happened. It might not get your money back right away, or they might not do it themselves, but it will get the ball rolling.

You may only be required to pay a very minimal amount of the fraud(I would think, at the most, it would be around $50). Call the bank back and speak to their fraud department, the fraud manager if you have to. If you are in the states report the bank to the BBB. They shouldn't get away with this.

My fraud happened a short time ago. I am still leery about putting my card out there. They never did catch the bad guys. So I don't know where or how they got my debit card number. I think, once they got the money back they stopped looking.

Good luck and much patience.

I got scammed for over $2000. It maxed out my card, destroyed my credit card rating and caused all sorts of extra interest charges on my account. The dummy who took my money wrote themselves a convenience cheque and charged it to me. It was approved even though someone elses signature was on the cheque. I don't even know where to start on being angry about it - and I found out about it right after I lost my job. I have no income now and my credit card was my other fault to lean on when I had no money. Now I have nothing.

My bank has a copy of my police report and told me that they'd get back to me in a week - it's now about 3 weeks later and the only thing I got was a nasty letter telling me that my account was canceled (without any notice of course).

My moods are very Jeckyll and Hyde lately and that is very hard to deal with. It makes me really angry and short with people especially when I am still trying and people around me are sitting watching me suffer and still expect me to do everything.

CBT is stirring things I don't know how to deal with. At least there is a place to vent about it.

telling me that my account was canceled

They have to cancel your account and reissue you a new one right away so that the scammer couldn't keep using it.

They should have notified you right away that they were going to do that.

As far as the signature, what ever company that cashed that check is responsible. I know a grocery store where I worked did that with a personal check and they were held responsible.

You have to keep on them. I know that is difficult. It would definitely be difficult for me and raise my anxiety.

The person who did mine, tried, at first to pull a small amount from my account. When that worked they went for $1000.00 and little amounts again until they wiped me out. The odd thing is that they donated my money to charity. Which, of course, the police thought I was just having donators remorse. However, all they had to do was look at my account to see I never did that and drive pass my house to see I wouldn't have the money to do that. After they did that though, they did try to use it with a hardware store in NY. I don't live anywhere near there.

I hope everything works out in your favor. It really should. I just want them to take more responsibility so that it eases your anxiety. Let us know how it turns out, unless you don't want to of course.

Hugs as always.

Someone I know had his identity stolen a few years ago, and the signature thing was actually one of the big points that helped him win his case. He uses his middle name and always signs with his first initial followed by his middle and last names. The forger was signing first and last.

The signature on the cheque is not even my name. The bank didn't call me to verify anything and it didn't show up on my statement or balance until 6 months after it was cashed. Who ever cashed it likely was in on it too because before cashing a cheque to a credit card the teller is supposed to verify the signature which they never did.

If the clerk wasn't in on it they obviously weren't thorough in there job! You will definitely have a case.

I'm angry/frustrated today because a tree skirt I've been working on, I messed up. Now I have about 3' or more of seam ripping and the stitches are way too tight. UGH I really want to have these done by Christmas. My sister told me not to worry about them being perfect. She said part of what is nice about homemade is that it is not perfect. Yeah, well wait until she sees them! :(

I work in an old office and it is cold. I have an oil radiator under my desk, so most of me is warm.

I get annoyed when people open the office door and stand with the door open to ask something rather than coming in and closing the door. Or they come in and as they are leaving open the door and hold it open whilst they think of something else to say.

SHUT THE BLOODY DOOR:mad:

I used to work in a really drafty building too and the only resource was a crappy space heater. In the winter it was especially bad because the entire row of desks near me would be bundled in their winter jackets! It gets as cold as -50 Celsius here in the winter. Being cold sucks and makes it hard to focus on work. I found that bringing an extra layer to work helped a lot. Wearing long johns was a life saver and any extra layers I thought would keep me warm.
