[Whitneys story]

Not long ago I changed my phone number as I was constantly getting calls and threats for a name I could not even pronounce.

My new number came with a follower. I received numerous texts and ignored. I obviously do not know this person and finally replied you have the wrong number. Response was WTF? I made reply to stop texting, etc.

That was a couple months ago. It started again with whats up stranger? Fs UpHoes Down.

I replied you still have the wrong number.

Next text... good morning stranger how u been gurl hey what are you doing Sun and I just got my phone back Fs Up Hoes down.

I reply depends on who this is?

I reply you got the wrong phone back. Tell me who you are stranger! You got satan in your pocket? I am more powerful than you. Repent!

Now stranger is calling blocking his phone number! Like I don't already have it numerous times. :tdown:

I am considering having the police reply to him next.

Just checking I understand Whitney. You had a stalker on your phone so changed it and when you got your new number got random texts from someone you did not know? After confronting him he disappeared for two months and then reappeared. Do you think they are the same person?

Yes I would approach the police. Also keep records of the texts and photograph them.

Just ignore him. He'll get bored. Don't answer your phone unless you know who it is and dont reply to his stupid texts.

Yeah, I'd say it's just someone with too much time on their hands and not enough creativity to use it productively. Just ignore him/her?

I had to change my sim card though, I had a stalker that wouldn't stop calling me, even though I didn't answer the phone...for 2 whole months. Some people just don't get the message.

No, It is not the same person that I was getting on the other phone.

It is the way the phone companie's assign numbers. Someone drops their number and they reassign to the next new customer.

Some people don't understand if they push redial... They will get the same wrong number. Doh!

I don't use the apps or location services on my phone. He is just a nuisance. Yes it has been reported to the carrier, Police and FCC.
It is not taken lightly and he can be charged with a few things. Time will tell. Thanks for your concerns. Sometimes I find there are things we just need to find humor in them.

Report it to the police, right away. It's against the law, and they can find out who it is. They can help you put an end to it, and if there's other complaints against this person, s/he will have a record of contact.

Stalking through use of technology is becoming all too common. It may be a stranger, but it also could be someone you know.

I'm glad you've let the police know. Hopefully they will be able to make them stop. Nobody should have to put up with that.

Whitney, I"m so glad you let the police know what was going on. As you know, I've been having an issue with one of those. The police told me until I got hurt, there was nothing I could do. But I have a feeling they must have contacted him, because now it has stopped.

I was able to see my therapist yesterday, and my little that was so scared has finally been helped, so today, for the first time in a long time, there is a sense of peace. Phew. I am so glad for that.

I hope yours has finally stopped as well.

@Safenow, What great news for you. Our laws stink in the US!

I think I may have been more frazzled than I realize. The other phone is my emergency phone. Due to an ongoing investigation. I thought I had posted this in the "Joke" area.
