This one can be disassembled which is good for cleaning it. :) I know, I, too, had to get used to new stuff and a new "official minimum size of cage"... 1 m x 50 cm at least! Finney is a lucky chap. :)

Yes, he is. Actually, back in the hamster days of my youth, the wheels were made of metal, just 2 plain circles with metal rungs between them on a simple stand. And cage size, my goodness, there were cages no bigger than a ten gallon fish tank! And some folks would use fish tanks too, instead of cages. Mine's cage was maybe the size of 2 shoe boxes side by side and two deep! It was made of metal bars with a tray in the bottom that you could pull out to clean.

On a side note, my hamsters were always tame when we bought them, but the last one I asked to hold in a store recently bit me!!! I did not buy him, of course, nor could I find any that were tame either! So I got a dog instead, after taking a month to convince my landladies that I would move if they did not let me have one. Since I was a good tenant, paid on time, never complained and had been there for 3 years, they finally agreed. I ended up moving anyway, 3 states away....

Oh, yes, I have!!! You won't believe it! We had two guests from Poland last week and apparently, one of them wanted to get a look at me but I was sooo tired so instead of staying up late for me, they tiptoed over to my cage and one ended up stepping right into my sand bath! :eek: Thank goodness I have a new toilet now and don't use that anymore for it!!! :barefoot:

They still do today. Actually, here, it's what hamster lovers recommend... It really is a good thing because when they're made from metal, hamsters can just make a lot of noise!

Hi all!

I've been sleeping a lot lately, even last time before today when I got to go to Finneyland. I would just run around a bit and then hide in a long cardboard tube and sleep away. I really liked it!

Today I did a bit of exploring and found quite a bit of goodies! Lots of nuts and other things.

Here are two pictures p-no took of me today. She said that I'm real big now, considering I'm a hamster. :) I hardly fit the doors she cut into the boxes! Especially this one; she got that from her Kris Kringle and turned it into a house for me! I am in there quite often! So, really, I got a gift, too!!! :) I hope I can participate next Christmas. Will they accept a hamster?

Oh Finn, I am sorry she is a beautiful young lady with hair your color. But she would so enjoy meeting your group. She used to have Guinea Pigs that were not as cute as you.

I am so glad you understand "space". Prime-No has arranged a huge space for you! An hopefully soon you will get to venture out to the garden.

Are you still having cold weather? Please don't catch a cold outside. Sneezing is not fun! I like your Kris Kringle Box.

Of course, I had forgotten all about their nochturnal instincts! Like who wants to get woken up in the middle of their nighttime sleep!?! My dad would just about bite your head off with words or worse if you woke him before noon. ONLY mom was allowed to do that!

Finn has had two rough nights, or rather, has been sleeping a lot due to construction noise (noise is an understatement) for our garden. It must have made his ears pop out! :eek:

Hopefully he'll get up some time tonight. It's already close to two!

Dear Finn,

I thought I'd leave you a message here since you got up only to get a piece of carrot and then vanished again an hour ago.

First things first: I love you! You are so cute, especially when you haven't licked yourself clean and your fur in order yet! I love it how you can look like an exploded mop, sooo cute! :happy:

Plus, I just wanted to tell you that I set up your adventure park a bit differently today. And I hid a few goodies you've never had before! Healthy goodies -- about four types of different salads! And leaves of basil!

I really hope you'll be getting up soon. I am tired and 2:30 a.m. isn't the best time for me to only start your outing...

So, here are some pics and I hope you'll check your thread if and when you get up again, and I hope it will make you want to come and have a bit of fun with me! :)
