Ok, I stated more then once that I feel Threatened and Fear By this Obama Hate, Fox News and Tea Party garbage!!!!

Um, you do realize you had to choose to click on "News, Politics & Debates" to be able to view this right?

That is not true. This post shows up as the top post on the homepage of this webpage. I got here by clicking on the title.

Everything that I have posted has been vetted by credible news sources.

Google News, a reliable, if imperfect barometer, gives a total of 3 unique hits to "Malik Obama IRS." They are from, as follows:

1. The Blaze: "a conservative libertarian news, information, and entertainment television network (and affiliated properties) founded by talk radio personality Glenn Beck." (source: Wikipedia)

2. BizPacReview: "brings the finest of Florida’s Conservative media together in one place." (source: bizpacreview)

3. The Daily Caller: "Founded by libertarian conservative political pundit Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel, former adviser to former Vice President Dick Cheney" (source: wikipedia)

I cannot vouch for the story's validity either way but I think the record speaks for itself that this is not a widespread news story and that it is clearly being pushed by conservative political pundits (Tucker Carlson, Neil Patel, Glenn Beck.) I'm not an Obama supporter, for what that's worth.

Would you be willing to consider that, for others here, it might feel really assaultive or triggering to have a strongly partisan political news story posted in a place they would like to consider safe? I'm not saying that is right or wrong, only practical, maybe.

Just my 2c.

None of my sources are any of the three you mention. I did not know that by posting in the thread though that it would appear on the front page, as I don't tend to use that method while on the forum.

For what it's worth, Here's the ACLU's (American Civil Liberties Union) position: "Michael Macleod-Ball and Gabe Rottman at the ACLU's Washington Legislative Office, say that what appears to be "aggressive enforcement" and "unconstitutional practices" by the IRS should be troubling to all Americans regardless of ideology or party affiliation.

The episode, they said, exhibits why everyone—"from the most liberal to the most conservative"—should vigilantly "guard their First Amendment rights" and gives just one more example of "why giving the government too much power to limit political speech will inevitably result in selective enforcement against unpopular groups."

And: "As the lawyers from the ACLU acknowledge, the fact that some of the IRS behavior can be attributed to the "growth in applications and the pressure to uncover "sham" 501(c)(4) groups" spawned by Citizens United, there is still no excuse of the appearance that the audits were politically motivated. They write:

Although the IRS claims this was an honest mistake, these revelations are troubling on many levels. For instance, there are several proposals circulating in Washington right now that would make it much easier for the IRS and other regulators to force political groups to disclose their donors. These disclosure requirements would apply even when the group is advocating purely on an issue of public interest, from clean air to abortion, and would apply to groups of all political persuasions and not just to groups supporting or opposing candidates for office.

The ACLU has expressed concern with these disclosure requirements precisely because they open the door to selective enforcement. Such concerns are often dismissed as speculative and overly pessimistic, but the IRS apology shows that concerns over selective enforcement are prescient. Those in power will always be tempted to use political speech restrictions against opposing candidates or causes."

As IRS Scandal Spirals, Progressives Defend Rights 'Even the Tea Party Deserves'

Uncomfortable or not, it should be recognized by Americans that the IRS is poised to expand into our healthcare, when it has historically abused, most recently in the Obama administration, but also by former president bush and several others.

Do you really want the IRS expanding as it is right now into health care?

I don't. I absolutely don't.

Thank you Lost Pup. I'm angry because this was my safe place. This is too Divisive!! Anybody could easy expressive negative opinions about politics, race or religion but, why open this can of worms?? Americans know full well, that these subjects are Hot Buttons.

I really want to point out that as an Obama supporter I do not find race to be an issue in this scandal at all. It has nothing to do with his skin color. Wrong doing was done. There is a lot of suspicious activity coming out of the wood work EXACTLY AS THERE WAS WITH BUSH and just about every president since the beginning of the nation. No president has been free from incident, the only thing that has differed are the details and severity. I do not believe Obama is entirely innocent in this just as I didn't believe so with Bush.

The question is how much did he know? How much did he fully support? How much was his idea? He is a politician and although I don't agree, I do expect some self serving agenda to be brought to light. I'm not much worried about his family's connections as I am with his choices to bring them support given those connections. He has to understand that any help he gives them will be seen as an endorsement of their behavior, that's politics 101. Knowing this, it makes me wonder if he is either doing it anyway as a sign of solidarity with his kin, or if he is in fact 'supporting the cause'. I don't really see any other possible motives than those, and both are deeply troubling.

As for the IRS, we've known for a long time that many in the IRS act in ways unbecoming of the organization to serve their own tempers and egos. Anyone who's surprised at these developments has been living under a rock. It's disappointing, but shocking? No, not really. This is our deeply flawed system at it's 'best'.

Loveneverfails-I agree with every point you make. I'm just tired of FOX NEWS/TEA PARTY Followers acting like this is brand new stuff. It's all been done before so why the OUTRAGE NOW? It's called Politics in America.
