What Are You Grateful For Today?

I'm grateful that I didn't hurt myself or worse last night. That I made it through.
I'm sorry it's bad right now, @Britt.f7. I hope you feel much better really soon.

I'm grateful for Balance Bars. I'm grateful for KitchenAid mixers. I'm grateful for rainy days. I'm grateful for snow, too. (There's talk of a Texas Hooker coming to Chicago... Haha! You have a dirty mind! :sneaky: No, it's when warm air comes up from Texas and cold air comes down from Canada and it all hits over Chicago and causes a big blizzard. I'm not sure it's actually going to hit though... but my husband thinks it will. I remember back in '79 when the snow was all piled up over 6 feet high everywhere. That was a Texas Hooker, too. ;))

I'm grateful when the kids go to sleep on time. I'm grateful for Spotify and music at my fingertips all the time. I'm grateful for the local branch of our community library... so convenient, exactly 5 minutes away by car (the other branch, it's 15+ minutes away... they just built the local branch a couple years ago). I'm grateful for music and people brave enough to share their art. I'm grateful for nice, hot baths even though I haven't taken one lately (maybe tonight?). I'm grateful for my kids, they're wonderful and make me smile. I'm grateful for my husband, he's awesome and kind and incredibly f*cking out-of-this-world over-the-top patient  (I really cannot overstate this) and generous and supportive and lately he's been really fun, too. (And I'm not just saying all this because he bought me presents this morning... but hey, that didn't hurt. LOL!) I'm grateful for the good days... I'm sure the bad ones are around the corner, but f*ck it, I'm enjoying the good stuff while it's here. :)

I'm grateful for rainy days and rainy nights. I'm grateful that the guys have been working diligently around here to clear the drains, scrape down the sidewalks and re-plow the driveways while things are melty... because I'm not looking forward to seeing chunky ice covered everything Friday morning!

Oh, and for your local weather update... my husband was totally wrong (at least so far)... no blizzard. Some rain, lots of snow melting and lots of slush clogging the streets. The pot holes are totally, totally out of control. Driving around yesterday was like a driver's ed obstacle course, it was ridiculous! I'm very grateful we got home without skidding out or getting into an accident. (I have a lot of fear related to car accidents.)

Hmmm... what else? I'm grateful for our goofy little Guinea pigs who squeak every time I open the drawer in the fridge that contains bell peppers and baby carrots and romaine, their favorite foods. They make me smile every time. I'm also grateful for our little hamsters... they're really awesome, too, and definitely fans of bell peppers and baby carrots as well.

I did take a nice hot bath last night. I was too manic to relax much, but I tried. It was still really nice to sit in the bath with bubbles and candles and all that, plus I think it really helped me to fall asleep. So, I'm grateful for hot baths on cold rainy nights, and I'm grateful I fell asleep so easily last night. I'm also grateful for our beautiful home. We're so lucky.

I'm grateful whenever I see people here having good days or getting past the tough times. I wish everyone lots of good days and offer lots of hugs to those who need them. I'm so thankful for this forum. :joyful:

I'm grateful for my home, all the bits and prices in it that make my life so much more comfortable and for learning what a Texas hooker is ;)
LOL! I feel the same way... I'm so grateful for my house and all my things around me. I'm like Maureen O'Hara in "The Quiet Man" (a movie I gotta find so we can watch it, like we do almost every year for St. Patrick's Day... along with Darby O'Gill and The Little People... which stars Sean Connery when he was like 20 years old. Yummy! :inlove: LOL! ), I need to have my things around me. So I'm very grateful for all of that, including awesome movies.

Yeah, it's great knowing what a Texas hooker is... but where is my Texas hooker, huh? She (it) was a no show. No big huge blizzard in Chicagoland so far this year. Which is just as well... I always worry about people getting into car accidents and the homeless freezing and stuff like that when the weather gets too bad. I mean... the snow is beautiful and I love the cold weather... but I know lots of other people don't. I'm so grateful that I'm lucky enough to have a roof over my head and warm blankets and plenty of food and everything like that. I was homeless for awhile when I was 20 (not on the streets... I was couch surfing, basically) and it's no fun. I really appreciate everything I have every single day. :D

I'm grateful for my family and my pets. I'm grateful for Facebook. I'm grateful for Spotify. I'm grateful for my cool computer and cool phone. I'm grateful for getting to cook and bake lots of yummy food. I'm grateful that I've had 10 really good days in a row, and instead of worrying too much about when it was all gonna end, I've really been enjoying myself without getting too, too hyper. I'm grateful for this forum, which has helped me SO MUCH. I'm grateful for my friends. I'm grateful our car is still going strong (she's not the youngest car on the roads, but she's tough). :smug:

I'm grateful for my friends and psyche nurse who explained to me how it would be if I wasn't around anymore. How it may not matter to some people, but it would matter to others. Each of them brought tears to my eyes with that humble thought.
Hey @Britt.f7, you also matter so much to me. You're here everyday updating these threads and I look forward to seeing your posts. They egg me on to do better, so I can come here and post how I'm doing, too. I smile when I see your latest update. You've really, really helped me, just by being here on the forum. Be well, hon, and know that you're a very important person. You're special and unique like no one else ever has been or ever will be. You make the world a better place. Lots of . I'm grateful to know you.
