Forum Streamlining

As part of the upgrade, there will be a streamlining of forums here, along with trauma forums to reflect the changes in diagnostic direction.

Find a friend and book club have been imported into the existing chit chat, which is now renamed Social, due to their lack of activity.

I'm going to look at the PTSD categorisation and will make decisions on that upon review. Saying that, I want to get complex trauma into here along with trauma discussion... as I have finally made a decision that the direction here should reflect the direction of diagnoses as they evolve. The other forums will close and be imported here, except the combat one. That may change in the future... time will tell.

ASD, PTSD and no doubt eventually something to aptly cover complex trauma, can then all be handled better. There is no dilution of trauma severity, but less focus on just PTSD, and as there are two diagnoses already as listed above, along with what will be a third to cover the trauma severity dealt with here.

We have our PTSD section, Supporter section, will have trauma specific section and if complex trauma diagnosis evolves to something official in the future, we will cover that as well.

ASD= Autism Spectrum Disorder. How does that fit in or are you using it to mean something different?

Was a bit of a shock to go to the DV forum and find it closed having not seen this thread. But I really think you've made the right call streamlining them . At the end of the day, we write threads to find support, challenge and different views, so the busier the site, the more people are there to offer it. :tup:

May I ask - what is happening to MySexualAbuse forum? I was a bit taken aback when I read this thread this morning.

It will be imported here, though as that site is the larger of the three to be imported, the details will be announced with more specificity in time, both here and there.

All content there will reflect the same level of privacy here. The general gist is that all sexual abuse public content will go into the new sexual abuse forum here, under the trauma and stressor category. Most else will get mixed into related forums here, and the left-over will get archived here. Private content can be made available here to any members who want access to private diaries or such that exist on that site, or they can be mixed in with existing diaries if they choose. The content will not disappear, it will just be mixed or hidden here, and available to any member (their content) if they need so.[DOUBLEPOST=1399326749][/DOUBLEPOST]

I thought that the domestic violence and sexual abuse forums were part of the network too?
