I have been a member for two years but never used the site. I'm a Us Army Infantry Veteran that is 100% service connected for PTSD. You will never see me write all those letters again. I call it PTS and most of my military friends that understand it do the same. In my opinion it is not a disorder.

It sucks really bad, severer anxiety and depression sucks. I have IBS too. But things could be so much worse. Hope to be getting a new therapist on Thursday. I fired my last one. Really she was just going threw the motions. Not to say I know everything or I would not need to see anyone. But when you have really bad anxiety thinking about going to one on one therapy. Something has to change.

I'm so glad I found this site again. I tried to start an account and it told me the email was already used. Lol Me from two years ago. Everything happens for a reason. Looking to make some friends and help when I can. We all have a story to tell.
Wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful day.

I call it PTS
I am glad that you shared. Outstanding!

I say this in sincerity not a trite platitude ...Thank you for what you gave to our country. I am often humbled by the extent of sacrifice men and women have given with integrity and honor and at such a cost.
So your story and your recovery is invaluable.

I look forward to learning from your eyes, when you are ready to share. Peace be unto you as well.

Trying to quote with no success. Lol I'll figure it out.

I am blessed to have friends that will actually, literally fight for me to the end, as I would for them. I've dedicated my life to helping my fellow brothers and sisters in arms. And anyone that I can. Its just the right thing to do. People are mostly good.

Be safe and help someone when you can.

I'm with you on the PTS V PTSD nomenclature!
Let us know how you get on with the new therapist. Agree with you there too, ideally no one should be feeling anxious about the T - sometimes it's because of what we know we have to talk about but when it's because they are rubbish then it really is time to find a better one. Otherwise the risks of further injury are too great.

.

Its finding the balance between progress and over stimulation that's key for me. The VA health care system is not the right place for this guy.I tried and I tried harder. But after over 4 years I have to do what's best for me. If that means starting all over. Well that's just what I will do. I have to. We all need to think of our selfs first. If we don't who will?

Thank you for all the warm welcomes I have received. I am so grateful for such an amazing site and even better staff and members. I would be proud to send any of my fellow brothers and sisters in arms to this site.

Wishing you all a joyful and peaceful day.

Self-advocacy/DIY = seems to be essential. It's extraordinarily hard when you're at your lowest and the time it takes and the rebuffs (not to mention the twerpy therapists) are re-traumatising in themselves.

IMHO, the whole area of PTS treatment and the 'industry' surrounding it needs to rethought and redesigned to put clients' needs at the very centre. Hrrmmphh!

Well the VA system needs all the help it can get! Glad to be getting as far away from it as possible.

What ever happened to people being nice to one another and respectful. I never had any issues in school growing up. Because I was fearful of my father not the teachers. Lol

Feeling fearful of my therapist. Wrong answer! Not for this guy. 4 years is a while. But I have learned a lot about PTS along the way and consider myself blessed to be able to help other people dealing with the same issues as me.

Feeling Grateful

I did and she is awesome! I felt sooo good after meeting her yesterday. I could talk to her all day. My prayers have been answered.

Feeling so blessed.

All I need to do is figure out this IBS stuff. Its very troubling to say the least.

Thanks for your support.
