Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, my roommate up and moved out without telling me -- leaving me to pay double my rent, which I cannot do. When I called my other "friend" to ask if she knew anything about his plans to do this, she literally just hung up on me. I called again, she picked up and hung up again. I have no idea why all of my friends have suddenly ganged up on me as if I have done something wrong. The only thing I did was last week tell them I am incredibly depressed and need help. Since then, they have treated me like the plague. They are being malicious and I don't know why. I understand that people often distance themselves from someone when they don't know how to help them, but this feels like a flat out attack. I haven't done anything to them; on the contrary, I saved both of them from getting laid off when my boss wanted to fire them. Why is this happening? Why would anyone think it's okay to treat someone like this, especially someone who is already struggling?! Worse yet, I work with these people, so now will feel under siege when I'm in the office as well. I don't know what I've done to deserve this.
