Just Sing Something

I absolutly love this idea. I sing all the time, though I'll admit the only person to comment on it wasn't my biggest fan. He asked me if it's hard to sing? I started answering him when he suddenly cut me off with "Well it's hard to listen too!!" Mind you that never stops me. ;)

I shall have to find my brave and give this a go.

@Recovery4Me Thanks. Oh, yeah, oops... that band thing hasn't happened yet. They've got a couple good gigs coming up, though. My buddy (guitarist) ended up doing some vocals, but I think they still want me. I don't dare to :c Anyway... I'll try to maybe post something here, but idk. Not sure if I'll be able to. It's scary.

@Simply Simon Oh I wasn't talking about altering the voice. You can use the same program for that too though it's not the best one for the job, but my idea was altering the music to fit the range, which is totally okay. The song still requires the same range and skill.

I missed plenty of notes in the songs I've posted, and I will continue to do so. There's one spot in the second recording where you can hear me tune my voice really blatantly because I missed the note at first. :meh:

As someone who played the violin and developed an ear fairly young, I can hear all of the times I miss very obviously, but I just pretend I'm singing in the car, and then I share it with you, and it feels good to sing and share that feeling here. :)

I also don't know if anyone hears it, but in the first recording, I skip a line, and you can kinda hear me stifle a chuckle.

@Simply Simon ...I enjoyed hearing you sing! I have dolby speakers and you sounded like you were right in the room. What an elfin voice you have- full of softness, breathy but with control as well as wonderful pitch. You really put yourself out there to encourage others. Bravo to our Staff Member!

I guess I have a bit of ear but I've never really trained it I just do something. I can hear when it's wrong, but I get nervous and loose focus if I think someone might hear me and then I miss. I guess.

I didn't listen fully through your recordings Simon, the jack on my laptop is messed up and I can't stand the built in shitty speakers. I'll listen now while I'm on my phone :)

@Trauma ... I really enjoy your wit! It is good to see your post and see you on the board.

I just wanted you to know...I remembered your dreams and believe in you. You can always just PM someone with your song if you feel a little brave. If you get fierce, maybe place it here (when and if you are ready). Sometimes...all we need is someone that really has our back to dream again. No pressure ever little one...just big hugs. Take care and yack at you soon (I hope).:)

I have a nice little prologue for all of you who have been wanting to contribute to the thread. :)

These next ones are especially important to me regarding my trauma and having PTSD.

The music cuts out for a few seconds toward the end of this one; I got an alert on my phone. This is Katzenjammer Kabaret's "Gemini Girly Song." I put Katzenjammer Kabaret in my "Angry Piano Girls" category.

A Perfect Circle's "Sleeping Beauty." Please note, I'm a huge Maynard fan. :D This goes out to all the boys who loved me and could not wake me from my nightmares.

This is another one from The Dresden Dolls, which has been my favorite band since I was twelve. This song helped me through a lot of rough times.

I'm going to keep barraging this thread, because I have therapy in a few hours, and this is my best form of processing and grounding.
