Finally Seeing Progress

My point was not about necessarily about being drugged, it was about being able to see the whole picture for the first time and it being descouraging, as you initially posted... trying to relate to that.
It certainly is a wake up call though how the health care system or Drs can steal someone's life or ability to think or see clearly (or live a normal life because the person is in too much of a fog) because a pharmaceutical cocktail they're giving someone. It's almost criminal to do that to a person.
But also I'm wondering why you replied twice to the 'being over drugged' with the same response of neurofeedback....... Just wondering...

Sorry about the double post. I've been afk for awhile, so I'm still getting used to the posting system again. I'll be more careful from now on.

I'm not understanding why you keep copying and pasting my comments when it's only you and I talking? I'm new here and I don't understand this.

And what is afk? What would make you think that I understand that?

@imok, afk is one I had to look up just now. It's a chat/forum abbreviation meaning 'Away From Keyboard'. We recommend that members stay away from things they might consider common abbreviations, since this is an international forum and not everybody knows what means what.

(Any other questions of a technical nature, please visit the helpdesk.)

All in all, I'm THRILLED Hippy that you are having this progress. So awesome. This post needs to be for all to see!

Another neurofeedback success story!

I've used neurofeedback in the past and it really did help with the physical and mental symptoms I was experiencing. (It wasn't without its faults, but overall a positive experience.)

Who is legally qualified to do neurofeedback with someone? A shrink.... What other kind of professional and is this done in a hospital setting?
I've never heard of anyone having it done....
ItsKis, what we're its drawbacks?

Some places have technicians who perform neurofeedback. It is NOT a regulated field so pretty much anyone can do it (sad to say). It is done in a therapists office (or in a clinician's office).

Its one of those things where practitioners ooohhhh and ahhhhh over how wonderful it is and try and make you drink the kool-aid by saying its the greatest thing since sliced bread. Well, it CAN help people a lot, but it is not without negative side effects. (Practitioners will tell you it is side effect free----SO not true!) Ok, so side effects aren't inevitable, but they are indeed possible, ranging from a mild feeling of sedation on up to full blown seizures. Many people have no ill effects, but some of us are quite sensitive and do have side effects. I am a VERY sensitive person (in more ways than one!) and I could only do certain types of neurofeedback, at the very lowest settings. Even so, I was subjected to episodes within the 24-48 hours proceeding a session. Ok, so this is my little rant about it, but at the same time, it gave me a great amount of healing. (I truly have a love/hate relationship with neurofeedback, LOL.) I even experienced positive effects that even the professional organizations had never heard of! Yep, I contacted them and they said that my sort of "healing" had never been documented before. (I know it was more than a coincidence that after a lifetime of issues, this area of my health suddenly and dramatically improved starting with my first neurofeedback session.) So its been around for maybe 20 years now, but still very much in the early stages of being developed as a therapy IMHO. Its used for mental disorders like PTSD, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, OCD, migraines, pain management, and athletes even use it to improve their performance.
