Found this interesting TED Talks video today and thought I would share. :)

That talk tore through my soul like a blaze.

BTW, have you seen the movie "The Bridge"? (On Netflix.). Gawd, so much pain... but that spiral is just a component of depression.

But, an astonishing, deep seated hope and compassion. If you have a moment, do watch it. Bring the f***ing Kleenex.

It really was quite powerful and he is a great speaker, but an even better human being.

No, I haven't seen that movie, but I will definitely give it a try. Thank you for suggestion.

I hope you can find you way out of the weeds, Matt, and figure out what else you could do/think/be that would also make you feel alive.

I searched for The Bridge on Netflix (streaming) and the closest thing that came up was something called Bridgend - A documentary investigates a string of suicides in Wales. Do you know if maybe your movie is only available on DVD? There is also a show called The Bridge on Hulu, but I'm sure that's not what you're talking about.

I think that there is a big difference between choosing to even listen or not (actually caring enough to or not), listening & hearing (having that capacity & ability), & listening & genuinely caring (not looking at your watch literally or figuratively). They were very lucky that it was him they met. Very kind & remarkable man.

Complicating matters I think we may have a tendency to stay around or choose or surround ourselves with people who don't care or worse, (likely out of familiarity?) It becomes wearing because we're not stupid. And yet it is in & of itself a self fulfilling prophecy.

Good luck @Matt1055 & all.

So sorry. The film was obviously not a mass market flick, even years ago. I saw it on Netflix, but it appears to be gone now.

If you find it, do watch it.

Sorry.
