That article is horrifying. I'm never having children again. Those ( I don't know what to call them) 'things' should be cast into a fire!

Although I HATE the content and the fact this exists, doesn't change the fact that it does exist. It is a good article for anyone who has children or grandchildren so they can be aware of the dangers and just how easily pedophiles access and start relationships with children on line. Limit access by keeping their computer next to yours, create a rouge hot spot so a parent can monitor all usage (phones, tables, laptops, etc.), educate your children, and it is OK to look, follow up as to where they go, meet their friends and their friends parents, etc.

It is funny when I brought this discussion up to a younger mother and she felt that she would be infringing upon her children's right to privacy. Sorry, but as a minor there really are no rights as their safety is far more paramount then hurt feelings. Give them an old fashion diary, but the internet is no place for an unsupervised minor..

@Eleanor It is a hot spot that allows you to "see" everything that goes on online. It is what hackers use to pick personal information such as credit cards, bank info, etc. In essence, it allows to see everything your kids are doing, their passwords, the sites and even those "incognito". It isn't limited to PC's and smart phones are vulnerable to them. It would have helped if I had spelled it correctly....rogue hot spot.

It is a fairly extreme measure for monitoring and unless their is a reason to employ it or basic parental controls are being circumvented, it can take a bit to set it up. Kind of monitoring of a last resort. Hope this helps.

I know this is a name of malware,too. I can see how it can aide those hackers to get in cell phone and PCs!
