Other Is it fibromyalgia?

Hi all,
Does anyone have chronic back pain and fatigue in your body? I’m suffering from intense pain and fatigue all over my body. I’m not able to sleep properly and always feeling tiredness. Are these all normal symptoms of aging process? I’m now 55 and have arthritis too. While browsing, One of my friends had told me that people who are suffering from arthritis may also have fibromyalgia. He also suggested me to consult in ATC pain relief, a fibromyalgia treatment clinic in Toronto for further examination. I don’t have any skin sensitive problem. Does anybody have similar experience like me?

I also have chronic back pain. Research suggests a common overlap between fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and trauma. Similarly, nerve block meds for pain such as gabapentin, are also sometimes prescribed for mood regulation. It's all pretty connected. In certain areas I'm also pain intolerant (sends me into body memories or other meltdowns). But whether directly related to trauma or not, there is a regulation component to both mood and pain. Also, chronic pain itself can set one up for depression over time...so good you are wondering about it.

Anyway, we can't diagnosis this here (could be fibromyalgia, but could be many other things)...I'd start with an appointment with a GP if you have a good one...and maybe you'd get an appropriate referral from there (not sure how the system works in Canada...I don't get far without my primary doc making a referral). At least you'd know if there is anything mechanical or otherwise to check out...maybe blood tests to rule out mineral deficiencies, etc. Are you depressed or have you changed any meds?

(if it matters, maybe admin will move this to "other symptoms/disorders" forum so it doesn't confuse people like "anonymous")

It was a genuine question.
Sometimes people end up on this forum while researching other problems that have nothing to do with trauma because there might be a post here that mentions the thing they are googling. I was asking because this is @christopher11 's first post and there is no mention of trauma or any mental health issues. If that is the case then he might find answers more useful to him in a different, non trauma focussed, forum.

Hi Chava, Thank you for your concern! I didn’t change my meds or am not depressed as well. But am really struggling with my pain and sleeplessness, So I decided to consult an expert for a detailed examination. I wonder whether this chronic pain led to depression :(
