How do I overcome having anxiety attacks/crying episodes in every session when my therapist brings up anything remotely related to the incident? I feel like I'm getting nowhere.

What is the incident? It depends really on what is going on but perhaps you should look up "grounding skills" and see if anything there might help. Very sorry.... Therapy isn't easy especially when we are raw. Hang in there!!!

We have been working on grounding. She is a fabulous therapist and I feel like she's getting frustrated w me. I made a huge mistake a few years ago and 2 men hurt me. I have only been in therapy for 6 months.

You may have made a choice that you regret - a mistake - but try and remember that they are responsible for their actions as well, and it was their choice to hurt you, not yours. I'm really sorry for whatever happened to you. And therapy can be tough. But you are talking about things that have caused you a lot of pain, and it's actually natural to still cry, and panic, and all the rest. Eventually those things will begin to fade. For now, as long as you are still showing up, and making a real effort to work on it - give yourself a gold star, and remember that it takes time. (I say this to myself as much as to you; it's not easy, I know)

Thanks! I left Monday's session a complete mess and keep contemplating whether I should just give up or continue in hopes it will get better but i have been living with this "secret" for far too long and I need my sense of "normalcy" back.

How long do you cry for? If it's short, maybe an hour or less, perhaps booking a double session?

If I get started, I'll go for days (know that's rare, but not an exaggeration), so I know that's not always an option. The whole 'have a good cry' thing baffles me. But some people really do need to cry it out first, then they can talk. Or it's kind of a staggered thing; cry talk cry talk cry talk.
