Are you familiar with "The chaos of English pronunciation" by Geralrd Nolst Trenité?

I figured it would make a fun little exercise if you are thinking too much about difficult things or are stuck in a mental pattern. Tongue-twisters could probably also help!

I had a lot of fun reading it out loud (trying to).The poem can be found here:

I used to be a real bookworm. Would read standing, laying down, even walking. Crash into things.
But PTSD had an effect on my brain where I am now pretty much unable to retain information, so I forget everything as soon as I learn it. So I can relate to what you say.

That´s why I love these little things that take little effort and are fun :)

I used to think my writing and spelling was because I was surviving in School instead of learning, but the PTSD, if there are waves of activation, that is when it's really bad. My writing has improved tremendously over the past 3 years. I was always able to get out the jist of what I wanted to say. But not for very long, it's like once things get too emotional and start linking to everything else in my mind. I have to stop and then not the whole jist gets out. It comes in spurts and is even worse if Im in front of someone trying to explain.

<chuckling> Aaaaaaand I'm brought back to speech class! :P

From apx 4yo -14yo I was seeing a new speech class with a pathologist at least yearly (for an hour a day, every day in school, going over vowels/ rhythm/ diction/ emphasis on which syllable :wtf: . In fact, I think I've read this poem in a few of them. (No one busted out The Rain in Spain Falls Mainlu on the Plain ;)). It wasn't that I had a speech impediment. It was that the last speech pathologist had drilled in whatever accent of whatever region I was living the last place! Yiss? Yeys. Yays. Yeh-has? Yez. Yea. Yeah. Yair. Yyyast. Screw it! Yep! f*cking English. :P
