I have PTSD. Recently i am wanting to tell my therapist about my symptoms of DID. It includes memory loss (like forgetting i was dating my own former girlfriend for an entire day) and feeling like two different people with two different core beliefs and hiding as well as general memory loss. Even why I was IN session for about five minutes. How would a therapist react to that? Have any similar experiences or would they hospitalize you? I'm an adult.

I thought I had DID, I also was very scared to tell him and put it off but when I did he reacted by pulling out the DSM, looking up the symptoms and we agreed together that it didnt fit.

I dont know your therapist but i cant see a therapist acting shocked or in any bad way that would make you feel bad or not be helpful. They need to make the diagnosis and maybe talk about medications?

You wouldn't necessarily get hospitalized, it really depends on stability and the person.

If you are really scared of telling it, you can maybe write it or log a bit, and then send him that? Hugs, hopefully it goes fine for you
