Sweaty Head

When I get anxious, which is pretty much anytime I get ready to leave the house I sweat profusely from my head. My hair gets wet and if I don't wipe my face I'll have trickles of sweat roll down it. I HATE it. I've given up on even trying to do my hair and makeup as I look like a drowned rat regardless. Going out is sometimes hard enough for me without adding the nervousness and self consciousness of it. I've actually had people ask me if I was "alright" etc. so I KNOW it's noticeable. I have to go to class really early so I can hide in a bathroom stall and try to calm myself down. Anyone else sweat like this? If so, what do you do about it???

We had a neighbor who had this happen to him. He had REALLY short hair, and I imagine that was why. He was almost bald. I am not in contact with him any longer, as I have moved from there, but I know it must have been annoying. I guess maybe you could bring some of that dry shampoo on your hair. Maybe it would help. I sure am sorry this is happening to you. I feel for you. I get sweaty hands when I am nervous, but I can just wipe them on my pants or skirt and I am OK then. I only wish it could be that easy for you!

This particular hairstyle survives being wet for weeks (rain or sweating buckets), PT, jungles, snow&freezing/thawing, wearing to bed (a do rag will keep it pristine, but it's not necessary, wet hands will slick it into glossed perfection in one swipe), can be showered in / or swum in / full immersion (just add a bit more gel when you get out & boar bristle brush the head-part to reset), and can be worn under a hat that you take off 4 million times a day. (Just put the hat on and take it off front to back.) It also only takes about 90 seconds -at most- to accomplish brand new.

Wash your hair, slick back with massive amount of gel (about 1/4-1/3 cup for collarbone length, for real, massive amount of gel) into a double braided bun if long hair, or nylon bun if short.

- Double braid = low ponytail. Split in half. Braid each half & band the ends. Wrap one one way, one the other, & pin in place.
- Nylon = Cut the legs off a pair of nylons, then cut the foot off, roll each into a donut, save one for later, or both into one double thickness donut. 2 hair-ties. 1= Low pony-tail. Nylon donut over. Comb half the ponytail up, the other half down. 2 = secure halves in place.
- Double bun = same as double braid without the braiding. Pony tail. Split in half. Twist each half & band. Pin in place.

Double Braid Bun.... Nylon Bun...Double Bun... OohRah :P

I am a male and I am bald. My scalp sweats so bad that I have to wear bandanas. Not sure if the following is the cause. Wellbutrin, Lexapro, Xanax or just the depression and anxiety. If u find out more information please share. I hate it and it is embarrassing.

Yea! that's exactly what happens to me when I wake up from a night mare, my whole body breaks out in a cold sweat, I'm shaking with the cold, yet the sweat runs down my body?

I used to have to go the bathroom and get a cold water flannels, and my late wife used to wipe my back, while I did my face and arms.

It was a horrible feeling and I hated it, most times I was too scared to try and sleep again, so I would stay up and maybe get a nap on the settee, if I was lucky?

Now, when I get them, I wake up alone, and that us even worse?

I have a friend with this problem. She was prescribed propranolol in hopes that it's beta-blocker properties would prevent the adrenaline surge that cause her to sweat so much. I don't know if it is working - she just started it this last week. It might be something to ask your doc about.

I have the same problem but I start on my forehead and it runs all the way to my waist. I become drenched .I talked to my family doc he said menopause but know it's not . it's anxiety or ptsd maybe both? If I'm home it never happens.
