I haven't wanted to get out of bed, yuck. I wish I could sleep it all away. He did stop by this morning and leave me a little bit of money and my meds. I guess he was scared about me draining the bank account on him. I told him just because he thinks like that, doesn't mean I think like that. He kept telling me "Well, my ex-wife did this... and such." Yeah, his ex screwed him over bad, but how dare he think I am anything like that. he is the one behaving like his ex.

So I am ok on money atm. :hug: we only had one mail key and it is on my key ring. So that isn't a concern.

The shelter can help with my birth certificate, I just have to get medical records for it can be notarized. Unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable closing the lines of communication which is slim at best. I didn't know, we'll see how it goes.

I'm glad you have been able to get some of the basics covered.

Were I in your shoes I know I would be beyond my wits end. Having to do it while in withdrawals, would put me over the edge for sure.

Be proud of yourself for everything you are getting set straight.

Also thank you for the update, I was hoping you were getting some rest. Still worried about you though.

Checking in, feeling drained and sick to my stomach atm. but still alive. I swear every place I called today did the "what about family?" statement. No, really I don't have any.

I remember that when I asked for outside help.....what about family?...I'd feel a mixture of shame and anger..felt like they were sticking a knife in a sore...adding to the turmoil.

He's done badly by you. It isn't fair and downright dirty. It is, unfortunately legal. Later (I know that doesn't seem too helpful now) he will be called to accounts and be made to pay restitution by a court. For now, contact the IRS and ask what it takes to attach his tax refund. Keep copies of all correspondence. Find a reasonable Attorney. Keep track of all the bills and letters about then. You will be asked for all of this. Be prepared, look smart.

Next, as soon as you get some money and the worst of your financial woes are over, open and maintain you own bank account. If you get married again, do not put your new husband's name on the account, start another account to be designated a joint account. Or make his the Joint and move household money to your private account and pay from there.

I know this all sounds a little extreme, but try not to ever put yourself in a bind again. You'll sleep better.

I feel so bad for you. The only thing I can come up with is that star bucks has free wi fy and also has plugs by the table along the walls to plug in and charge. I do hope that you reach out to a womans shelter and work on getting a new representitive payee. I think he is in for some trouble with ssi because he took your money.

I just cannot comprehend how anybody can do that to someone
