Oh god, theres that word. Ive been trying to wrap my head around it for a few years now. I point blank asked my therapist if i was trafficked and he said yes and since ive been trying to wrap my head around it.
I havent clicked on the article...i will, just not a good time to but it doesnt suprise me. In the US there are a LARGE number of underage prostitutes and thats exactly what that is and even adult prostituted that are under the control of a pimp...same thing.
The sex industry is a very large one in the US and the UK and its extremely sad! I dont know that it has grown since the 80s and 90s so much as we are actually just now seeing it for what it is, human trafficking!

Ok so I was curious so I clicked on it.
"Even after escaping trafficking, the large majority of people in our sample reported that they were still afraid of their traffickers."
Its been 13 yrs since i cut contact and one of them is dead and im still terrified of them, and of everyone due to it. I has a very long lasting effect.
There are many documentries on Netflix about it in the US too and im very happy to see both countries (and in sure many others) actually finally focusing on this and calling it what it is now!
