Good stuff.

I think that many go astray because docs put people on sleep meds at the first mention of insomnia, but meds don't treat the underlying cause and when med use is discontinued, you've gotta go through rebound insomnia. (Mine was so bad that my brain didn't know how to fall asleep without drugs!)

I didn't do any sort of CBT related to my insomnia, but seeing a sleep doc enabled me to get on a strict regimen to get my insomnia under control. She stripped me of all sedating meds! It was one of the best things I could have done, and I recommend that everyone with bad insomnia see a sleep doc.
