Think they'd go for a sunny, outdoorsy shot with stylish light-lens sunglasses?

Or, if not, you'd be surprised how much a pair of glasses changes a face. Get some bright colored (professional) frames (fashion lens), do a hair trick (tie it up so it looks short, or part on the other side, or accessorize) - you'll be the person with red glasses, people really don't see much past that.

Just some thoughts. I don't think it's an unreasonable request, given the financial situation. Annoying as hell, but if you can accomplish the picture 'in disguise', they will reopen your profile, you might make more money, and you've got that one picture you can use for everything.

That's a reasonable assumption, but it's not what they said. They said they need it for "verification purposes."

How do you deal with all these networks wanting you to post pictures and details about yourself online?...

I had the same problem, not only that: all of your contacts can then be automatically shared, private ones too. That is a bit too much of a good thing. If I hire a professional I do not need to know what that person looks like. Also, one has to be careful about all of those sites where any kind of information can be shared. I think such sites are really not that professional at all, therefore I will conduct my own marketing strategies without such aids.
