So our little PTSD group met last week and one of the things our therapist believes in is a holistic approach to therapy. So we tried acupuncture as a treatment for C-PTSD. She had a pro come in and basically what she does is place five small gold studs in key places around your ear. She uses this funky tool to find the “most active” spots and that’s where she puts the studs. They don’t go through your ear, they go into it and stay in for about a week and fall out on their own. It barely hurts at all and the process takes maybe 5 minutes.

Well, I have to say, it works well for me. The past five days have been pleasant. I am not saying this is the cure, but it augments the meds I am on kind of like it was the missing link. I know my wife has noticed improvement and I guess I would call it feeling more balanced, calm. Not sure how long it will last, but for now it is pretty nice. Might want to check it out if you can.

I've been going to an acupuncturist for more than a year now. Started for my back and now just get a 'tune up' about once a month. The meridian that goes through the ear and forehead as well are key to helping your bodies energy flow properly. I'm happy it's working for you. Any non-medicine approach to helping treat our PTSD is a plus.

What I do is slightly different but the effects are the same, very helpful.

When I was in the Trauma Recovery Program at Walter Reed they sent me to the Pain Clinic and I was given those exact same studs for pain and it worked just as you describe CAFT! A total win for my pain. Thank you for posting and reminding me. I really know I need to do yoga and acupuncture but I tend to deny myself what I know works...?!?!

Nice to hear you found it helps Caft.

Unfortunatly it doesn`t last forever, also depends on the person being treated, but it is certainly someting you can go back to time and time again.

As Granpa said, it`s all about the bodies Energy Flow and keeping lanes free.

Chuffed for you cocker
