Oh let’s break it dooooown! Only Whisky is Scottish. Everywhere Scot’s have migrated, &/or people have rightfully adored? Add the E. But both Bourbon & Rye? Are mostly Scots-on-the-move attempting a proper drink. With local grains and waters, smoke and stills. Or people with good taste.

I cannot parse this is a place, having gone to c-school in Pensacola FL. Despite how many old world names exist in the new? Trauma = Pensacola? Is Florida. Fawking PTSD. Good things ALSO happened in Pensacola FL. The phosphorescent waves in the dark, and night swimming? Some of the most sensual delightful things I can imagine against bare skin. Bonfires amongst the dunes. Sex on the hood of an el Camino in a hurricane. The 3 mile bridge. Perdido key/quay. And countless others. But also? Trauma. Fixing THAT name as a singular place in time & space.

@Friday I thought they were connected too, what with Spanish colonizers and all, but Pensacola is likely from Choctaw and Peniscola a localized evolution of the Latin for peninsula.
