Advice On How To Say/explain This?

Well, we went down town last night and I managed to get away with just a single rum & coke. I think the determining factor was that I went down with the older two of these ladies + a friend of one of them and they knew & respected that I didn't want to drink much. The younger ones who *do* want to see me drunk arrived later, already drunk themselves, and didn't have the attention span to really make anything happen. I'm gonna have to have a chat with one of them at some point, though, because even as we were all sharing our taxi home she was talking about how one of these days I have to get drunk.

I am glad you had a good time. Be strong and let the girls who base their good time on getting wasted get on with it. They will learn that they do not need to get drunk and will also learn some hard lessons by doing so, unfortunately.

You have done so well so keep to the path you feel safe on and just be there without judgement to those girls who will inevitably make mistakes when they are on their drunken path.

I suspect that a lot of people on here, including myself have made some bad mistakes or got into bad situations when drunk and regret them now. I wish I had talked to someone like you have been doing so that I could get some positive feedback. Instead I followed the crowd and regretted it. I should have been stronger and stuck to my guns.

We're going down town again tomorrow night, new girl I previously mentioned included, and at least 2 of the girls are also not planning on getting drunk. Yay! Now I won't even be the odd one out! :P
