Advocate's

I just visited the local Returned Services League (RSL), to sign up to be an advocate.
You have to jump through all the hoops, do a basic welfare course, then the pensions courses etc, so by the end of the year, I will have a desk to sit at for a few hours a week. Access to a pc and phone too.

The blokes currently there are all Nam Vets and as they said, getting a bit long in the tooth. So I am a welcome site.

I was planning on working from home, but they said that if I do it out of there, I get to leave it there when I go home. I like that.

I just hope I am able to help someone one day. Give some purpose to my life again.

Good one. I agree with them, do it from there. And if you can park half an hour away from their office, or even walk there, that's a good idea at the end of the working day, too....

Nice on Jimmy. but like Ned says, park down the road, gives you those few minutes to unload your head before getting ín the car and going home.

I can see it being a good day when you help your first case. I realy can see it giving purpose to your life again as you say. Just remember though that you ain`t superman and can`t help everybody.
