Thank you for the link to our old AI threads
@anthony !
I’m saddened by the fact that your AI service has been shut down. Thanks for having the service in the first place. I found it extremely helpful.
We were discussing this in a user's diary here yesterday and
@barefoot explained how to use ChatGPT to get similar results.
I'd been finding it very frustrating just using the regular ChatGPT website because with the service I was using, it couldn't remember what I'd asked a couple of questions earlier and kept getting stuck and kept giving answers that weren't very helpful.
@barefoot pointed out that if you create an account with ChatGPT and log into it, you suddenly get a whole other experience - you can give it instructions like "talk to me like a trauma therapist in all your messages please, unless I give other instructions in future" and it will. And it will also remember all your messages and their content and context and take them into consideration, pretty much as the AI here has done.
Also,
@barefoot pointed out that if you get a paid ChatGPT account, you can even refine it further by using ChatGPT's "create a bot" feature, where you can give it very detailed instructions (more than just "talk to me like a trauma therapist").
I may try that in future, but I'm finding that the creating a free account and logging into it is giving me results that are quite similar to the AI therapy service here, so far.
I guess one thing to consider in using it, given the issues that OpenAI raised here about being concerned about using the AI for discussions about suicidal ideation or explicit sexual abuse content - whether that's an issue that could also arise if you use a private ChatGPT account for those topics?
@anthony I don't know if you can give us any pointers of what parameters to give the AI (or the bot, if you set one up) other than "talk to me like a trauma therapist" ?
