If I am suffering from anxiety though, this does not help either :( I tried valerian root and it helped calm me down. Also I have tried valium, but that knocks you for 10 and you feel terrible in the morning.

In response to this post, I bought valerian root about a month and a half ago. Havent taken it. My psychotherapist recommend me to try it. I am hesistant to pills. When you say that valium knocks you out for 10, you mean it knocks you out to sleep for 10 hrs? how does valium work? what is it? I think I heard of it before from someone else but I am not very clear on it.
 
Keep away from valium, it is highly addictive. What I meant was it knocks you out completly. You sleep really deep, don't recall any dreams. It is like you are knocked out completly. I found the quality of sleep was poor and I woke up feeling like I had a hangover. It was nasty.

Valerian root was not as strong, it helped calm me down but it did not make me feel bad. I took it especially before exams or when I was really anxious. I think you must not take it in a row longer than two weeks though. Best to talk to a doctor about it.
