Andepra - Duloxetine Hydrochloride Experiences

This is an SNRI, serotonin noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor.

It has a similar action therefore to Pristiq, which I take and works very well for me. I am curious if anyone has had any experience with this medication or anyone who has taken Pristiq then Andepra. I would like to know of any noticed differences, if any. Of course, we all respond differently, I am just gathering information for the future in case Pristiq loses effectiveness.

A friend was prescribed Andepra for anxiety. She does not have PTSD and she thinks it has reduced her anxiety very noticeably.

I am on this medication in conjunction with Seroquel. When I was on duloxetine alone I did find I would get dizzy spells but other than that I have been ok. So far this combination has worked better for me than duloxetine on its own. We are all different as you said though, what works for some may not work for others. I wish the you the best of luck at finding what works for you. :)

I take this in combination with Mirtazapine (Remeron), Lorazepam (Ativan) and Promethazine. But most days only have the Duloxetine and Mirtazapine. For me that combination is the only thing that's ever touched my depression and is useful for anxiety as well - for me I'm not sure if it drastically reduces my anxiety, or gives me more strength to deal with it because I'm not using that energy battling depression.

My psychiatrist said that because it has two mechanisms of action (serotonin and norepinephrine like the Pristiq) and that as such that it was a stronger medication, thoughhe also stated that Mirtazapine was also a very strong medication and to be on the both (at least in the UK) is uncommon . One thing that might be useful to know is that Pristiq is only licensed for the treatment of depression, whereas Duloxetine (Cymbalta) is licensed for both depression, anxiety and some pain disorders - so you may find it even works better if you do end up needing to change.

One thing to query if you need to change is - if switching between SNRI's will you still get the notoriously bad withdrawal effects? I say this not to discourage you from changing or ceasing a medication, but so that you are aware at least in the early stages of a potential switch that you might be encountering bad effects - not side effects of the new medication but withdrawals from the previous one.

Good luck! :)

I was on a combination of mirtazapine and duloxetine (both SNRIs) although the duloxetine in my case was prescribed for pain management but had knock on beneficial effects for anxiety and depression.

I am now reduced to a low dose of the duloxetine only and hoping to come off that soon too. The withdrawal with both drugs has been horrendous for me, but like Kas, I did find the combination to be effective when I most needed it.
