Guns are indeed worse than stabbings, yet I think it's a matter of convenience that guns are the common weapon of mass killings in the US.

I don't know if taking away guns would make much difference. This idea these people have of making a whole bunch of other people pay in blood for the killers problems, is what needs to be addressed.

Take away guns... The next easiest way to kill people is a bomb. Easy to make.

Take away bombs... Chemical weapons are just as easy to make.
The whole reason the German's used chlorine gas in the first world war, was they had thousands of tonnes of it just laying around. It was a byproduct of a manufacturing process they used in peacetime industry.

You'd be amazed at how often people make that stuff by accident trying to get a stubborn stain off of a bathroom fixture.

I'm not saying guns are awesome, or safe. No. No one needs a f*cking M4-carbine or M-60 machine gun.
But I bet my bottom dollar that just taking away the weapons still leaves us with people who walk around us with the intention of committing mass murder, looking for an alternative means to carry it out.
If not a gun, a bomb, or gas, or a f*cking delivery van.
The gun is just a convenient means, not necessarily the problem.

Just as sick of this as everyone else too.
It's such a horrible thing. Those poor kids, they just wanted to go to class, or get out of class to hang out with friends.
They don't get too now, because something is f*cking wrong with the way people think.

Such a f*cking waste.
Kids don't deserve to die like this. There's no reason for it. Yet it keeps happening over and over again.
Why?
They're just f*cking kids. What the f*ck is the point? They never even got to live, now they are dead.
I hope they get a straight answer out of the little shit that did this. Maybe we can actually learn something useful this time?
Maybe this can be one of the last times.

With all due respect, in this country it is a *major* part of the problem as the convenience, as you say, has led to what can be justifiably be referred to as a public health crisis.

@ShikibuZ What I'm worried about is that if there aren't guns, these people who are committing mass murder will switch to bombs, or anything else that is going to effectively kill alot of people in a single attack.

That's all. I think gun control is important, absolutely I do.
I just worry it won't be enough to stop this happening like it is.

It's the idea that human life doesn't matter -- not the idea of what they will use to kill. If someone wants to commit mass murder they will find a weapon. Our problem is that for some reason our children think its ok.

I owned guns as a kid.

It’s a helluva lot easier to grab my gun, throw it in my car, and drive to campus than it is to MAKE a bomb or MAKE deadly chemicals.

Anybody who's trying to get rid of guns all together just quit watching the news. They put out what ever they want. All the video footage shows is kids being led out in a uniform line as if it was a drill. Just because the TV tells you doesn't mean its real. Go look at the interviews with the Sandy Hook parents and watch how they're laughing, smiling, thinking about those major dollars they're being paid and then once they're on for the speech they go sad and pretend.

The same wicked people who killed 4 thousand plus of our own by blowing up the twin towers and blaming it on the muslims. Starting wars that will never be finished for the benefit of funding. The same people who want global dominance and a so called, "New World Order." Love the idea of you the people not being able to defend yourselves. So guess what? They own it all. Nope. If you can bake a cake? You can build a bomb. IEDs are incredibly easy to make.

If you can’t bake? Stick a rag in a bottle of booze and light it on fire. Voila. Molotov Cocktail.

Can’t get a bottle of booze? Mix ammonia and bleach in glass jars and throw them.

The only reason we don’t do those things in this country is a cultural attachment firearms. Extremely expensive & highly regulated firearms. Especially in comparison to a $6 bottle of rotgut, or $2 bottles of bleach & ammonia... all 3 available at every grocery store & gas station in the country, only 1 of which requires ID. And if you’re already at the gas station? May as well pick up a couple gallons of gas (petrol bombs), and a styrofoam cooler (napalm).

People here, for whatever reason, think “I need a gun!” and go to great lengths to acquire them.

In countries where firearms aren’t available? It doesn’t slow people with violent intent down at all. In point of fact, it tends to speed things up, because it’s impossible to regulate all the components of things that slice or go boom, which are widely available and cheap as hell. They just switch to knives and fire. And get a higher body count.

The problem is the intent to do violence.

Never said it wasn’t an issue. It’s a huge issue. Absolutely.

But it’s living in fantasy land to think that in countries without access to firearms, that they have less violence. They have different violence.

I don’t care what kills a kid. The problem, IMO, is that someone has just killed them. The tragedy is their death. Stabbed, shot, or burned alive? They’re still dead.

That someone would bring a weapon -any kind of weapon- into a school and kill kids with it? Is wrong.
