Can relate to what you are all saying, chronic pain is a awful and forever changing like the weather. I suffer from multiple chronic illnesses which include insulin dependant diabetes, kidney disease, angina, fibro, osteoarthritis, and other ailments. As you get older it gets worse.

There is not much that can be done with these illnesses, I'm always on painkillers and at the moment the doctor has put me on a new type of paracetamol/arthritis pills. Naturally the amount I take is limited because of the other illnesses. The pain in my hands does get me down and I have to be careful not to knock my right hand against anything or I see stars from the pain. Thanks for nothing God. As if I didn't have enough problems with the PTSD.

Some days are very frustrating. Like Barberian says, sleeping doesn't mean resting as you're constantly tossing and turning in pain trying to be comfortable. Waking up is a real drag as I have a bad headache and neck pain 95% of the time. Feel as stiff as a plank and every step is an effort. Would liken it to the 'Tin Man' in the Wizard of Oz. And I forgot to mention the bronchitis problems and the Seretide Accuhaler. Have to sleep propped up, listening to the whistling, clicking etc. coming from my chest. This is also getting worse with time.

At time I get frightened that I might drop dead. Not that I'm scared of dying, it's just I'm in the wrong country alone. Stupid me! Hope to be back in Australia in the next four to five months. Because my I have a compromised immune system I tend to avoid to much contact with the general public or keep miles away from sick people. Have a shot against pneumonia every five years and flu vaccination every year.

I started vitamin therapy a few years back and it has helped tremendously. Have cut down a lot on the pharmaceutical drugs which were killing me as it ended up being drugs to counteract the efforts of the others. Take a lot of B, C, D and Omega 3's. Fresh vegetables and fruit are also very important.
